PSEUDO ECHO
After receiveng an email from the mega star himelf, Brian Canham, telling me of the gig and to get my tuche down there. How could I say no.
Rubys is a nice outer suburb venue, located in Belgrave, Victoria, Australia. Recently changing Management.
Pseudo Echo weaved their magic at 10pm. Performing all of their mega hits, Love an Adventure, Destination unknown, and of course their International remix hit of Funky Town included were a few covers of their personal friends, famous songs and many of their other famous songs such as Living In A Dream.
They were and are always great to watch. A live performance act that are a carbon copy of their recorded sounds. Vocally mesmerising. Brians vocals are the exact quality as what you would have heard 15 or 20 years ago. YES!! Pseudo Echo are back, with the full vibrancy and energetic qualities of what you would have heard in their earlirer masterpieces.
A new line up backs Brian, although there are some upcoming original line up shows. With the synthesizer still a centrepiece of the Pseudo Echo sound, along with Brians masterful guitar work and vocal ability, electronic drumkit and electronic bass guitar sounds. If the original Pseudo Echo sound is a piece of your life that you are missing. Pseudo Echo are back and remain the original sound that so many of their fans miss.
For 15 years I have craved Pseudo Echo to re enter the live performance scene, now that is a reality. Pseudo Echo are back, and who knows!! if we are lucky they may release a new album. Wouldnt that be fantastic? For 20 years I remained a silent fan of Pseudo Echo, never in my wildest dreams, imagining I would ever be in contact with Brian, let alone be personally invited to one of their gigs.
Their energy at fan level remains a competitve stature of why Pseudo Echo are what they are, an International name as timeless as James Dean. It took 3 songs into the set for the entire venue to be pumped up and dancing. Yet all to often, watching masters at work, the night was over way to fast, the songs pumped with incredible energy, one track after the other until, it was the end of the night and closing time for the venue.
For those who are interested, Brian Canham is a very busy person while also gigging with Pseudo Echo, he also has a recording Studio in Melbourne.
MetroMIx Studio.
