Proud to be what, Wanda? WTF?

Wanda Sykes says she's proud to be gay. Hmmm...proud to be gay. Interesting. Don't worry people this isn't going to be another gay bashing piece, I am just so tired of people saying that they're proud of their emotions, body or their parts like they're a great achievement.
Excuse me ladies and gentlemen but the skin on your body ain't got too much to be proud of. It's seriously susceptible to cuts, burns, scrapes puncture wounds bites and cancer. So could you stop saying that you're proud to be black/white/hispanic/asian or whatever you claim to be. Like being proud of the outside of the box more than what's on the inside. We are a gullible set aren't we?
Now Miss Sykes claims that she's proud to be gay. Really I consider that being proud of something means that you had a great chievement of some sort. Really since when is being gay an achievement? I'm sorry? That's right! It's not! It's not something to aspire to. It's no to be proud of than having short hair, brown eyes or yellow stumpy cigarette stained fingers! You hear people say they're proud of their yellow stumpy cigarette stained fingers? Can we please stop saying that we're proud of stuff we have no control over?
Would you walk outside and look up and say I'm proud that this is a sunny day? No! Because you know damn well that you have no control over it! Since you had no choice over your physical attributes then you can have no pride over what you've got! Sorry. You gotta live it. Just another piece of trash psychology thought up by someone who needed to make a name for themselves.
