The Ultimate Revenge Against Men
November 15th 2006 02:05
Most civilized societies don't allow murder to be used as a tool to get back at someone or get them out of the way. But there is an option available to women which enables them to kill off at least a part of the men who spurn them, dissatisfy them, anger them, or hold them back: Abortion.
Pregnancy becomes an opportunity for such women.
I will never forget when a person I knew called to tell me she was pregnant. She was having alot of trouble in her marriage at the time. My optimistic response was telling her, well, maybe, with a child on the way, her husband would grow up and move his behavior more towards being the kind of person she said she wanted him to be.
"Oh no," she said,"I'm getting rid of it." Huh? I asked her what her husband thought of that idea. She said she didn't tell him, and wasn't going to. In her opinion, he didn't deserve to know....and anyway, she did not want to have his baby.
So much for fairness.
I came away from that conversation feeling a heaviness in my heart. Let's see...is a baby like a puppy...dang it, the neighbor's dog came in and bred with your dog, it's not the kind of father you would have chosen for your dog's pups, so the unborn little mongrels are worthless. We treat unwanted pets better than we at times avail ourselves to treat unborn children...at least pets have the Humane Society.
The almost triumphant, yet at the same time sorrowful tone of the woman's voice unsettled me. It was almost as if she had finally found the right weapon to strike back with.
"I am woman, hear me roar..." behind your back, if necessary.
When I reflect on the topic, it occurs to me that abortion is actually the murder of not just one person, but a part of two others, as well. The child is the quasi-atonement, the blood sacrifice, for the sins of his or her parents...in offering to which God?
Thank you for your time and thoughtful attention.
