Practice Pointer - A Lesson from Edison

Do you feel that half the things you do turn out turn out all wrong? If so, take heart, because today I'm going to tell you how to fail successfully.
Most people know the story about Thomas Edison failing over 9,000 times before he got the light bulb right. Edison was interviewed by a young reporter prior to his discovery, who boldly asked him if he felt like a failure and if he ever thought he should give up. Perplexed, Edison replied, "Young man, why would I feel like a failure? And why would I ever give up? I now know definitively over 9,000 ways that an electric light bulb will not work. Success is almost in my grasp." And shortly after that, with over 10,000 attempts, Edison invented the light bulb.
You see, we shouldn’t be afraid to give something a go or be afraid to fail. In fact, for us, the only real failure is not trying at all. It turns out that people really don't remember the times Edison failed and they don't remember the projects he started that, for one reason or another, didn't work out.
The fact is, successful people try more things more often than average folks do. Whether it's playing, inventing light bulbs or building an international business, if you attempt enough things, you're going to succeed a lot. One other thing is certain: If you don't try anything, you are guaranteed to fail. So go for it!
