Summer on the Way

April 11th 2010 00:34
Every year we have summer coming in and every year summer power shortages surprises us. Power rental companies books till date showed great double digit growth specially aggreko which is year after year sweeping all the money on the table.

Be it legal sweeping or illegal through gifts and payed employees in other electrical companies specially in africa, aggreko is expected to have another huge increase in profits. WHY you ask??/

Thanks to global warming and stupid corrupt electricity ministers in addition to improper planning, aggreko is exploding with profits from Kenya where they were able to turn the last tender into their favor after not being the lowest bidder and the electricity minister personally intervened so that they wont lose the deal to delaying tenders announcement till early summer through their connections in ministries till so they will win on delivery and higher price.

Now there is a coming 750 MW power rental tender in the middle east and if won by aggreko and sure it will as we all know, then the stock will skyrocket. What are you waiting for??? BUY BUY BUY.

Pakistan : the never ending misery

July 21st 2009 07:52
Every day i read my email, i see three articles minimum about the power shortages in pakistan.

As every day, one government official will announce that within 3 months we will solve the issue and all people will have electricity soon. and he says that the shortage is only 3500 MW ???? that means around 10 New gas turbines to be installed ??? in three months ?? WOW.

I guess the government need to stop lying to people and tell them that they wont have electricity 24/24 hr until 2020.

Continuous Misery

June 13th 2009 19:17
Again, Mugabe hands are tight and can't do a thing about the Zimbabwe economy. No one is willing to give money, unless they see less influence from the 85 years old president on Zimbabwe.

Shortage of money to buy coal lead to stopping of 480 MW power plant, i.e almost half of the electric power produced by Zimbabwe is lost.

The simplest solution to this loss is to start power cuts excluding the streets where the (ZESA) electricity company employees live as usual.

The other solution is to import power from neighboring countries using the unavailable foreign currency.

Moreover, the random electricity cuts have also affected the wheat crops. Only 10% was harvested from what was planned to be planted. Again, Zimbabweans will need foreign currency to buy wheat.

The Zimbabwean Prime minister was in Washington today asking for help in fuel, food and foreign currency. US is still unhappy with Mugabe and is thinking twice before opening its pocket.

Winter will start soon in Zimbabwe, and with the power cuts , people will suffer a lot unless someone (e.g. USA, south Africa or china) give a nice cheque.

Electricity for people living in the modern world is easy to access and is available 24/24. For others in the 3rd world (as they call it Darwinismly) its a luxury that is seen once in a week or a bit more.

These 3rd world countries are mainly: The western and eastern African countries, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Yemen, Nepal, and Vietnam

Ethiopia Energy Crisis

April 23rd 2009 12:21
Even though Ethiopia is sitting on more than 30 GW of potential hydro power generation and more than 7 GW of wind power generation, only 40% of its population have access to 800 MW of electricity with frequent cut offs. Due to the financial crisis, the in country money resources and foreign funds have been depleted.

The decrease in coffee and flower exports added a bigger problem by reducing the influx of foreign currency into Ethiopia
