The must have camera every spy should have.
Just about every spy movie in the 1960s featured this camera.
Spy cameras have been used since the modern camera was invented.
The Minox camera was by most spy operatives in the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's. The camera’s optics and manufacture were pure engineering precession.
The format consisted of 8 x 11 millimetres small enough and reliable.
At the time the Minox was at the forefront of camera technology.
The camera proved popular with Private-eyes.
Camera sales were restricted to government and military intelligence agencies. The MINOX produced high quality photographs for it’s size and format.
The MINOX camera was expensive in the 1960s you would need to fork out several weeks pay to buy one.
If you happened to have one laying around in the attic or old trunk it would no doubt fetch a pretty penny to collectors.
The MINOX was perhaps the realization of a dream by Walter Zapp who had envisioned the camera form a piece of wood. The piece of wood was the size of a man’s fist, and would ultimately fit in the palm of a hand. The camera was finally produced in post war West-Germany. The history of this camera and its make up make for interesting reading.
