There is a new disease spreading rapidly across the world. The number of people being infected has reached epidemic proportions.
The source of this disease is not known.
While there is currently no cure, there are steps that can be taken to prevent or lessen the chance of contagion in the general public.
1) Avoid large gatherings of people, such as political rallies and meetings.
2) Avoid physical contact with elected officials and/or appointed officials.
This disease, while not immediately fatal, can cause political death and has, in extreme cases, led to political suicide.
The most common symptom is selective amnesia.
The latest person to contract this disease seems to be Condoleezza Rice.
She is recorded as saying that; “she cannot recall then-CIA chief George Tenet warning her of an impending al-Qaida attack in the United States.”
She also said “What I am quite certain of is that I would remember if I was told, as this account apparently says, that there was about to be an attack in the United States, and the idea that I would somehow have ignored that I find incomprehensible”
This was followed with “I don’t know that this meeting took place, but what I really don’t know, what I’m quite certain of, is that it was not a meeting in which I was told there was an impending attack and I refused to respond.”
So, it appears that, Condoleezza Rice can’t recall George Tenet warning her of an impending al-Qaida attack in the United States at a meeting, she can’t recall that this meeting took place, but she is sure that the meeting that she can’t recall was not a meeting at which she was told there was an impending attack.
What a joke. If this is an indication of the United States world leadership abilities then I suspect we, the rest of the world, need to find someplace to hide.
The trouble is, that here in Australia, our current government is so infected with this disease that it is a wonder that it can function at all.
After all Nobody tells Anybody what is going on. Nobody can recall anything and if Somebody does remember they are branded “left wing academics who are trying to hijack Australia’s history”.
