Final Fantasy XIV for PS3 Only

June 3rd 2009 14:34
Square Enix has dropped a bomb on the gaming world. The most anticipated game in years, Final Fantasy 14, will be exclusive to the PS3 for consoles. Many gamers who chose the Xbox over the PS3 are now regretting that decision. FF14 will be one of the biggest MMORPG games in the history of the console business.

The only other details that were released by the manufacturer at E3 were that the game would simultaneously be released in 4 languages: English, Japanese, German, and French.

The other detail is the game will be played in the world of Eorza.

Final Fantasy XIV will also be available on PC.

The Beatles: Rock Band

June 3rd 2009 14:13
The next installment in the Rock Band is one for people of all ages. The Beatles will headline the new PS3 title. Complete with 45 Beatles classics, the game will be on the top of the list for any Beatles fan or any fan of Rock music.

Beatles: Rock Band for PS3

GameSpot.com wrote from E3
The 45 songs that will be included on the disc will be unlocked right away for Quick Play fun, though there will be a career mode to play through, and the process of bringing those songs from their humble tape beginnings to their current audio glory was an involved process. As Randall told us, the original masters featured stereo mixes that put instruments in sometimes strange places in the mix (such as the drums in the far right). These mixes wouldn't necessarily work for gameplay, and as a result, the game mixes for The Beatles: Rock Band will be completely unique for the game, separate from the re-mastered version of the Beatles catalog that will be released this September.

The game will feature a chance to play just like the Beatles. The player can sing, play instruments or do both at the same time. The additional challenge will could possibly create huge bonus points.

Another addition according to GameSpot.com is the Dreamscape backgrounds. These apparently are re-imaged backgrounds of famous Beatles scenes that shift in and out of the game based on what you are playing. Included in the demo was a shot at Abbey Road Studios then making a shift to a scenic hill top scene minus fans. Very Beatles like in my opinion.

This game will be on my list when it is released. It will make a nice compliment to the Guitar Hero Metallic game.

I will say it right here, right now. Resident Evil 5 should be the game of the year for Playstation 3. The game has absolutely everything that a mature gamer and fan of the horror genre wants. The games playability is fantastic. The story-line is at par with the rest of the series. Most of all the replay ability is infinite.

Now Resident Evil has added downloadable content called "Versus" mode. This is worth the $4.95 price tag that is attached to the download. The mini-game can be purchased as long as you bought RE5 and have an internet connection.

In Versus you can play two additional mini-games that are not included with the game. Versus allows you to enter a world much like the “Mercenaries” mini-game included with the game. The big difference with Versus is you play with or against people all over the world.

Slayers – The main objective in the Slayers mini-game is to just kill all the bad guys you can. You can huge points if you perfect your skill and play well with the team of up to 4 that you are with.

Survivors – This mini-game forces you to play against the Majini (zombie guys) and the other people in the game. This game is challenging for the beginner but a blast to play.

The best thing about these mini-games is you can collect Playstation trophies and Point towards your bonus features in RE5. The games collect you points much faster than just playing the game itself. You are guaranteed points in every game you play (min 500).

If you have an extra 5 buck in your wallet, get Versus mode. It is hours of fun for minimal cash.
