Im just a typical guy with a passion for all things film and game related and after reading many reviews and previews...etc, over the years i think its about time i gave somethin back! :)

How do you go about getting a domain...or even getting anyone to answer you?? :(((

Just a quickie to see if anyone can help me. After reading that after 3 or 4 posts you get considered for your own domain, i am left curious as to why after 8 posts and 2 ignored messages to the moderator, i am no closer to an answer.

This isn't a post intended to start flaming against anyone or to be taken as a dig at an otherwise very good community, i am just a little frustrated at the lack of correspondence and hoped someone would be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Battle of the sequels....BioShock 2 vs Mass Effect 2

So the first battle of the giants this year and Bio Shock 2 as triumphed. Leaping to the top of the UK all format charts and out selling Mass Effect 2, last weeks top spot occupier.

Bio shock 2, proving to be the 'Big daddy of 2010's big early releases.

Mass effect 2

The public has spoken and i fully agree with the outcome. Whilst mass Effect 2 is a very good game, it is lacking in certain areas. Thankfully the same cant be said for the fantastic Bioshock 2.

So thats one all then, due to the battle of the firsts being edged by BioWares effort and the second going to 2K. So the question is who will come out on top when the inevitable third game from the respective games are released!???

I know one thing i cant wait! ))

Bio Shock 2....Review

Anybody want to play as a Big Daddy? Of course you do… well guys, now you can! This second instalment from 2K sees you doing just that, and right from the start you take control of one of these ruthless juggernaughts... drill and everything. Anyone who played the first will remember feeling that certain sense of dread upon hearing that deep groaning coming from just around the corner, which I might add is still there but this time you can look that big faceplate in the eyes and know that you’re its equal…. well in theory anyway!

Set around ten years after the first, you awaken in somewhat mysterious circumstances, with no real recollection of how you came to be where you are or even what you are. The game continues the trend set by its predecessor of frequent radio communications from both friend and foe alike, often pointing you in the right direction and sometimes warning you of impending danger. There are also many radio diaries scattered around Rapture, which along with the real time communications you receive help to build on the eerie ambience the game sets.

I really don’t have any serious issues with Bio Shock 2, (trailer) which is some compliment considering I didn’t even offer the same courtesy to the stunning but not quite perfect Mass Effect 2. If you’re a fan of dark, quirky shooters then this game has everything you could hope for.

The atmosphere is as tense as ever and with the same enemies from the last time around, plus new types of deadly Splicers to contend with, there’s always something to keep you on your toes. One such new enemy is the fearsome and always formidable ‘Big Sister’ which in my opinion has similarities to the Witches from ‘Left for dead’. They are quick, deadly and make a terrifying high-pitched noise on their approach. Without wanting to give away too much about the enemies you encounter, as the game progresses its fair to say they come in all shapes and sizes with varying abilities and multiple ways to cause you harm!

The lovely 'Spider splicer'

The graphics are great with some of the water scenes especially impressive (even more so if you have HD). The controls are good, though things can get a little complex when you have access to multiple Plasmids, weapons and ammo types, but frequent gamers shouldn’t have too much trouble adapting.

The game play is linear in regard to completing the mission objectives but some of the areas are large and it gives you plenty of opportunity to have a look around. Having only finished it on normal for now I cant comment on the harder difficulties but without being too hard it was still a challenge and ammunition can be hard to come by. Other times you will find yourself fully stocked only to see your reserves depleted by a ‘gathering’. Which sees you having to protect a Little Sister as she retrieves Adam (the substance that buys you Plasmids) from a dead corpse, which means an enemy onslaught you must repel for about a minute or two.

There really is a lot to do in Bio Shock 2. There are many Plasmids and tonics to discover, weapons to find/upgrade and enemy Splicers to research. With Little Sisters to search out and Adam to discover, along with the mission objectives to complete, you wont be short of things to do. It really is an excellent game, topped up by an very good looking multiplayer experience (although to be fair I have only had a quick go), so fans of the first can look forward to another action filled romp, because it really is everything the original Bio Shock was and more!

Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena....Fantastic Value for money

Dont you just love it when you pick up a game on the cheap and it takes over your life for a week. That unexpected realisation that you have in fact picked up a true bargain, well this is without a doubt the case for ‘Assault on dark Athena’. When this game first surfaced I played the demo and wasn’t too impressed, meaning it wasn’t until the best part of a year passed that I actually bought it, and this was largely due to the huge price drop (I think I ‘stole’ it for about five pounds sterling!).

For starters this is two games in one, so in theory (and in practice in my case but I may have struck gold in that bargain bin I raided!) for the price of a round of beers for you and a friend, you have two good Xbox 360 games. I haven’t seen this value for money since ‘The orange box’ hit the shelves, and I don’t say that lightly
