Plastic Tree Akira Nakayama Heavy Cutting & Stroke news
March 8th 2010 14:31
Okay, the title can be a bit alarming for Plastic Tree fans. It may sounds like Akira got himself wounded but fear not about that. I'm pretty sure that he's alright and doing fine. I'm not sure how many of you have heard this news since I've just received this news from CDJapan.
So what the hell is this Heavy Cutting & Stroke? It seems that it's a new DVD that will be released on April 27 and the best part is, it's not a live DVD and it's not even a pv collection DVD. But then again, I hear you say this again "What the hell is this DVD if it's not a live DVD or pv collection DVD?"
This can be a good news for those who wants to learn on how to play guitar because this DVD is all about learning how to play guitar, nonetheless from the man itself. Yup, you hear me right. This DVD is a guitar manual where Akira himself will teach you how to play guitar using Plastic Tree tunes. Even if you're not a fan of Plastic Tree or Akira himself, if you really want to learn how to play guitar from someone who has been in visual-kei for a very long time, then this DVD is definitely a sure thing to have.
You can order the DVD here:
When I heard about this release, I seriously thought that they're going to release another live DVD but I was completely wrong about that. As far as I remember, I think there's no any other jrocker had released something like this and I would say that Akira is the first who had done it. It's a weird idea but it's not a bad idea either. I think that there are a lot of people have been influenced to start their own band after they have seen any visual-kei bands performed so this DVD might be a hit.
One of the possible reason why Akira is chosen instead of any other guitarist is simply because Plastic Tree guitar isn't that complicated unlike other guitar tunes so this is perfect for complete beginner. I never played guitar but I would say that any beginner can easily pick up the lesson since Plastic Tree music itself is simple. I don't know whether Akira can be a good teacher or not but if you've made a lot of mistake, he's not going to scold you or hit your head with a ruler, so this is an ordinary lesson with an extraordinary teacher.
It's not a surprising thing that they would pick Uruha to follow suit if this kind of product really works. I bet dozens of fans out there will only just buy the DVD because of Uruha and can't be bothered to learn to play guitar. Well, some would buy this DVD because they really want to learn from the man himself, but most of them would just buy the DVD only to stare at him. I hope this kind of DVD doesn't exist at all.
