There is a growing problem in the world that pilots may be intoxicated when they are piloting a commercial airliner. An American Airlines pilot failed a breath test, just before he was to pilot a plane from London's Heathrow airport to Chicago with 204 people on board.
This proves that you never know who is piloting a plane or what consequences will become of it. Perhaps this pilot had piloted other aircraft while intoxicated and was never caught.
