It's been a busy but yet a great week for me....most importantly I had the honour to attend a briefing /dinner regarding the 2010 FiFa Soccer World Cup in Darling Harbour with my fellow South Africans and Australians!
It was informative, fun and most importatly a reminder to everyone that South Africa is by far one of the most beautiful country in the world!
To those who are doubtful, SOUTH AFRICA IS READY FOR 2010! The stadiums being built are just out of this world... including one bigger than Wimbledon! I had the priviledge to see all the artistic impressions of the completed stadiums!!!
I know for a fact that - there are many of you out there who think South Africa is unsafe....well let me educate your ignorant minds....crime is everywhere including Australia. The difference is that , Australian Media including its Government has a strategy that works for them, and that is to keep the world and its people in the dark! In short they prefer to glorify the good, the better and the best not the bad and the ugly.
Most of us who have travelled the world know that in Australia too people get robbed, people get killed, cars and houses get broken into, many are homeless....I could go on and on...but I know you get my drift.
This ignorance also runs through the veins of South Africans who are ashamed of being known as South Africans. Just like the idiot and the so called South African who asked Dr Jordaan (CEO-FIFA, S.A.) during question time "to guarantee everyone that - they'll be no crime in 2010.".....oh my lord, the world aint perfect lady!!! There are no guarantees in life, we all take chances.
Anyways...I thought I'd share a few words of wisdom, that through all the hardships, South Africa has not only proven but also set an example to the world that change is possible.
As human beings we do deserve second chances...need I say more...take lessons from Nelson Mandela.
So to you reading this and to the world, PLEASE GIVE SOUTH AFRICA AND THE AFRICAN NATION A CHANCE TO SHINE AND BELONG.
All in all, don't always be fooled about what you read and see in the news , especially all the negative reporting about South Africa and other so called 3rd world countries. Do your own research, get out of your comfort zone and visit these other countries but first save your money for SOUTH AFRICA because 2010 is knocking on your door!!!
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful and safe weekend.
I'm out....Pilly Jele
To all mothers out there, your special day is approaching! In my opinion it should be a Public Holiday just to celebrate all you've sacrificed for your child/children.
Unfortunately for some of us we won't be able to share this special day with our mothers due to various circumstances. For what it's worth, I love and cherish my mother and thank her for all she has done and continues to do for me.
All in all, it's important to thank and recognise your friends and all loved ones too as they often care for us other then our birth parents. To all my friends out there who are mothers, I'll be ringing you up early tomorrow too! As for myself it's going to be some years to come before I join the club. I've seen women around me become mothers and being raised by a single parent, I know it is a difficult job and that's why I'm taking my time.
Again to all my ladies have a beautiful day tomorrow.
