Peter Meets A Dog On Doomsday
January 23rd 2012 08:30
Peter walked the street and began to feel glum. He couldn't find any drain that didn't reek. His shoes were full of bad odour, and he didn't know what to do. He looked to the sky and saw the lights far away. He knew they would get closer. Within a day they would be here.
“This is awful;” he muttered as he furrowed his brow.
Peter began to stroll to a nearby store. He moved inside, brought a candy bar, and then he moved outside. He walked and he walked. He felt vacancy at every step He didn't know how there could be so many lights on. People should have been living in the dark waiting for the worst as they glared. He shrugged.
“Maybe it doesn't matter; he muttered before he lifted his eyes in order to see a lone dog on the street. “Hello there;” he muttered before he whistled to the dog that had no leash on its neck.
The dog approached Peter, and Peter gave the dog a lolly.
“No one should die alone;” he muttered before he picked up the dog and began walking. “You can come home with me and I will feed you good;” he said as he continued to stroll as the mutt hung limp inside his arms. “You're a good dog;” he said. “You can be my pal until we die;” he added as he thought of the roast leftover he could feed the dog.
