Persuasive Writing Process: Carefully applying a useful metaphor is a good way to express a thought, providing almost instant acceptance and credibility to your idea. A metaphor is one of the most persuasive tools supplied by the English language, and as a writer, we should apply this tool frequently. If you are having trouble creating a good metaphor, here is a simple suggestion. Write down some attributes related to the subject you are presenting. Then, start listing things with similar attributes. When you find something with quite a bit in common, carefully avoiding things with too much in common, you have found your metaphor.
