Looks like international tennis especially for women players has become more of a fashion display, rather than a display of tennis. Looking at Maria Sharapova, Serena, Venus & so many other current female players, really short & revealing dresses, plunging necklines, seem to be the order of the day.
Venus Williams's outfit at the ongoing French open seems to be more inclined to promote her sex appeal to the audience, rather than her tennis skills. The winner of seven grand slam titles seemed all set to seduce the male spectators at the Roland Garros & the millions watching on tele. Venus appeared at the courts on Sunday, wearing a lacey black overlay, with red trims on the front & sides, that seemed more like a see through dress, in her first round encounter with Patty Schynder. The crowd seemed to be more interested in her outfit, rather than her tennis.
A couple of her rear shots seemed to suggest that she wasn't wearing anything underneath, as she did in this year's Aussie open, where she seemed knicker less.
Even though Venus won in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, the fact of the matter is, there should be a limit to what the players can or cannot wear during a match. While it's all sensible to endorse logos & fashion brands, we cannot let them dictate the game. We must have some kind of dress code or rules governing the outfit of players. International tennis is not about promoting sex or nudity. Come on girls, let's get real & play some great tennis.
Venus defended her dress sense, saying it was " ALL ABOUT ILLUSION". Not sure which illusion was she referring to. After all it's not a magic or illusionary show, it's a sport.
This is not the first time in recent years, that we have witnessed this. Sharapova often comes to matches & centre courts wearing skimpy outfits & heaps of make up. No wonder she has lost most of her talent & skill to the dictates of fashion.

Thanks

HRITHIK'S KITE FLYING HIGH

May 22nd 2010 23:39
KITES, the biggest & the most eagerly awaited Bollywood release of 2010 has finally hit the screens worldwide yesterday, on 21st May. Shot at an expansive budget of 150 crores, Kites is being screened in both Hindi & English. The English version created by Brett Ratner of X-men fame will be released next week on 28th May.

The movie drew packed houses at various cinemas a
HRITHIK-BARBARA
cross Auckland, New Zealand & Sydney, Australia, on it’s opening night. A beautiful love story, with some breathtaking action sequences & melodious music, the highlight of Kites is the unique pairing & the on screen chemistry of Bollywood hunk, Hrithik & the Mexican beauty Barbara Mori. The movie has really been well received in NZ & Australia, especially because of Hrithik, who is quite big in New Zealand & Aussie land & because of the it’s beautiful settings in Santa FE., New Mexico.

K.K’s melodious & powerful renditions of “Zindagi Do Pal Ki” & “Dil Kyun Yeh Mera” really mesmerised the audience. Hrithik has done an awesome job, considering this is his debut in Bollywood singing. Duggu sure impresses in rendering “Kites Soaring in the Sky” along with Suzanne De Mello. It’s hard to make out, that it is Hrithik’s voice, if we didn’t know it before. He has sung like an experienced performer.

Hrithik (Jai), wants to make quick money in Vegas. Starting off as a dance teacher & then marrying illegal immigrants for green card & getting money from his so called wives, Jai later abandons them. Barbara Mori (Linda) is one of his abandoned wives & for whom he felt some connection in their very first meeting & whom he meets again later under different circumstances. Jai feels that something weird happens or he does some stupid act, as he is about to hit the jackpot. As he did to Kangana Ranaut(Gina), who has a crush on Hrithik, while learning dance from him. He almost turns her back on yet another jackpot & , as she had come to wish her happy Valentine’s day at his house. But after seeing her limo, Hrithik once again tries to woo her, in his usual charismatic style. Gina hails from an affluent family of Kabir Bedi, who owns a casino in Vegas. As Hrithik wins over Gina’s dad & wins a car & house, pretending to be fake lover of Gina, the story takes a u-turn, as Gina’s brother Tony(Nick Brown) comes into play. Linda turns out to be Tony’s fiancée. Director Anurag has captured the building up of love between Hrithik & Barbara in a very sensuous manner. Both speak different languages, Spanish & Hindi, yet they can understand each other’s emotions & feelings & are able to overcome that barrier. Both have a common background, raised in poverty, yet they want to make big money & be rich & feed their familes. The later part of the movie witnesses the chase of Babara Mori & Hrithik by Tony & his associates. The settings in the backdrop of Santa Fe mountains & the Mexican desert are amazing. The hot air balloon action sequence is awesome.

The ending is also slightly different, as first Barbara & then later Hrithik both kill themselves, rather than be captured & being tortured & separated. Barbara leaves her mark in her debut bollywood performance. She looks stunning in most sequences. Maybe the director could have done more justice to Kangana’s role, by giving her some more reel time & dialogues & not just being made a showpiece. Hrithik as usual was brilliant in his performance, with his bronzed & rugged look, the floral shirts & the traditional Mexican attire, amazing dance & action sequences. His greek god looks will surely have the european audiences mesmerised. K.K’s “ Zindagi Do Pal Ki” or Hrithik’s “ Kites” are surely going to be nominated for the best song. I’m sure Kites will soar high on the skies of Bollywood & global cinema.

Way to go BOLLYWOOD.

No wonder BOLLYWOOD RULES THE GLOBE. HRITHIK ROSHAN IS THE BEST, better than Brad Pitt & Tom Cruise.

Cheers

The much hyped marriage of Indian tennis queen Sania Mirza to the former Pakistan cricket captain Shoaib Malik, to be held on 15th April , has become more of a controversy than a wedding.

Shoaib is alleged to have married another Indian girl Ayesha Siddiqui, in 2002 & has not till date divorced her . Ayesha made the matters public last month through t.v channels in India.

A case of cheating & intimidation has been filed against Shoaib, who first married her but then deserted her. Ayesha's mom has even alleged that Shoaib visited their house several times & had even stayed at a hotel in Hyderabad with Ayesha.

The controversial wedding makes one wonder, of the real intent of celebrities wedding. Earlier Sania's engagement to childhood friend Sohrab Mirza , who is from a wealthy business family & was pursuing a MBA from U.K, was cancelled, under mysterious circumstances .

Hope we don't end up with another celeb wedding going down the drain & ending up in divorce. Isn't it common sense that both bride & groom know each other well & their background, to pursue a happy married life & not use their religion as a means to dump & destroy one woman's life for another one.

Amitabh Bachchan is undoubtedly a living legend of INDIAN CINEMA. At close to seventy, he still reigns supreme not only in India but across the globe. Even Hollywood looks upto him in awe. He is bigger than than Sean Connery, a Tom Cruise or a Brad Pitt. At the peak of his career in 1980's he was dubbed as a "ONE MAN INDUSTRY".

His acting prowess can be understood from the fact that he won the "BEST ACTOR AWARD" for year 2009, at the coveted FILMFARE AWARDS, for his film PAA, competing against much younger actors, most of them half his age. He played a challenging role of a 12 year old boy, who looks almost 60, due to a rare disease called "PROGERIA". His character "AURO" was loved by one & all not only in India but overseas as well
