Pelosi and Pinnocio
May 15th 2009 03:12
Every once in a while We The People Peons get the priveledge of watching Royalty squirm. Today was one of those days. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi got a taste of her own medicine. It seems that she was well aware that torture, oh sorry, enhanced interrogation was going on when she went before the public saying she had absolutely no knowledge of it.
Once again we see an arrogant politician deny any wrongdoing in spite of facts to the contrary. I have always believed, and I live my life this way, that the measure of a man or woman is not in the mistakes they make. Their true measure is how they handle the aftermath. A person can take full responsibility and rectify the problem or they can blame everyone and everything around them and become the victim.
As so often is the case, politicians often take the latter approach and pass the buck. As bad as they make themselves look, we as the voters look worse. It just shows how little these politicians think of the public that they can show us a square and swear on the bible it's a circle. Then they get in front of the press, and unless there are any real reporters there they get leading questions to help the deflect the obvious. Today a good example was a reporter who out of the blue asked a question about health care. Even his own peers were laughing.
I have a solution to all this nonsense and I will continue to repeat it and I can only hope you will pass it along. Every voter should change to a non party affiliation like independent and every election cycle from the most local up to federal, vote all incumbents out. Trust me, just one or two election cycles like that and these politicians will take notice.
