The Four Million

August 16th 2008 10:15
Grizz and Toth have said that there are four million people on the planet who are "keepers of the seed." That doesn't mean that they know they are. But they are having an affect on the way things are going.
I was told tonight that many situations that might have occurred haven't, and many things that could have been much worse were mitigated somewhat. This is due to T4M searching for, finding and maintaining balance in their lives. The more they find that balance, the more the people around them will also.
When you meditate, you are meditating for 100 people. When you forgive someone for cutting you off in traffic, you encourage another 100 drivers to be more considerate. When you share your money or food with someone, you encourage 100 other people to do the same.
Nothing you do occurs in a vacuum. People make fun of me for taking from Bell's Theorem, which says something like, "Any two particles that have been in contact at any point in space/time will continue to influence each other no matter their present location in space/time." And, given the Big Bang, we were once all a part of each other and everything.
To me, it's harder to believe that we don't influence other people and the universe with our energy. You affect the people standing in line with you at the grocery store, you affect the people who call you and get a wrong number. You affect the people in their cars who are on the street with you.
Your images of a beautiful tomorrow, where everyone is happy and healthy, where the planet feels as appreciated as she deserves to be, that reality will be achieved by the faith energy you put into your visualizations. We're not all working on creating our own lives, we're creating the universe for everyone. What we think ]matters. Thought creates matter. Our thoughts and imagination and will are what create the matter we see around us, what we think of as the real planet, real life.
The one piece of advice I would give everyone is stay conscious. Have compassion. Remember that thought literally "matters." Thought and imagery create matter. You know that, you've always known that. And everyone told you you were crazy. Well, you're not. So step up to the plate.
I recently read a wonderful quote from someone who was a great teacher for me...
"...people will do anything and give up anything to get enlightened, except the one thing required, which almost no one will give up: People will not give up that they are not enlightened!"

Here's a reading and music list:
The Tao of Physics
Deep Breakfast
The Dancing Wu Li Masters
Seapeace
The Tao of Pooh
Mind Into Matter
The Teachings of Abraham
Mr. Dog
Chakra Suite

You are enlightened, you are the light. Shine for all around you and they will learn that they must also shine.

I'm an Unapologetic Tea Snob!

August 16th 2008 03:49

There are wine snobs, beer snobs, coffee snobs, but I've been a tea snob for many years. I have lots of favorites, but tops are probably first flush Assam and autumnal flush Darjeeling.
I have my favorite tea vendors, Upton Teas and Mark T. Wendell are among the best. Actually, that reminds me that I have to add another favorite, Lapsang Souchong. I usually buy Chinese from Upton, but Wendell's Hu Kwa is an outstanding Lapsang.
There are many things I could say about tea, but I've already done it elsewhere. The link at the top will take you to another article I wrote on tea. I'm prejudiced, but I think it's worth a look. I'm going to sit and have a cuppa while you go check out my article. Cheers!

Emerging From the Mists

August 15th 2008 06:44
Oh my but I've been down. I can't even tell you. But I'm out of the mists and seeing a path. I'm seeing the forest AND the trees again, to my absolute relief.
I feel like I've been just slightly off course for so long that I had no idea I was just sailing in circles. Now I've gotten my course corrected and I can see Northern California and a whole lot of other things dead ahead.
Guides, angels, spirits, whatever you want to call them, I thank all my friends and helpers for this day. And for yesterday, because without yesterday I wouldn't have the appreciation I have for today.
More tomorrow, but I have a whole world of work to catch up on tonight before I sleep.

Chocolate as Therapy

A Delicious Vegan Chocolate Cake

So you're a vegan, but you haven't given up dessert. You can find delicious soy ice "cream" but you need cake to put under it! I mean, you can eat cake without ice cream, or ice cream without cake, but the two belong together

A Clearing of the Mists

August 15th 2008 05:52
I don't claim to know what happened, but I've finally cleared my way out of the fog today. I've gone from the depths of depression to clarity and the glimmer of a path ahead of me. And I'm not the only one feeling it, so I'm thinking it's a universal clearing. At least for now.
It's as though I've finally regained my view of the forest and it's making it much easier and more meaningful to plant and water the trees.
I've been joining a myriad of social bookmarking sites tonight, because apparently if a tree falls in the internet forest and there's no one there to hear it, it makes no sound whatsoever. this is one of them...Technorati, and I'm checking out a whole bunch more

It's Hard to Let Go

August 14th 2008 08:40
I keep telling people that there are going to be a lot fewer people on this planet by the time we hit the end of 2012. They all nod knowingly and go on about their business. then they're shocked when it happens to someone close to them.
It's hard, it's frustrating, grief sucks. But I really believe this to be true. There will be large disasters, small disasters, people who just go quickly and before their time. These are contracts that were made before they come into body in this lifetime.
You may be the next, or it may be your job to grieve and hold together what is left. We all have a role to play, whether we've seen a copy of the script or not. All you can do is trust your gut and not take life personally.

Interesting Times

August 14th 2008 08:21
"May you live in interesting times." So goes the popular curse. I think anyone who is alive right now and has half a brain is feeling this curse in spades. My moods are shifting hourly and all I really want to do is sleep. And I'm working harder in my dreams than I do in real life.
I did see a cool thing in a dream last night. I was planting tomato seedlings and I came to one that was cherry tomatoes on one stem, big tomatoes on another stem, and zucchini on a third stem. I want a dozen of those plants for next summer.
I feel like I'm supposed to be doing something to make this all go more smoothly, this whole quantum planetary change thing, but I can't seem to figure out what it is

I've been having tooth trouble lately, which means a hard time chewing. Lots of egg sandwiches, peanut butter, soy milk, oatmeal, and MASHED POTATOES.
I never thought I'd get tired of mashed potatoes. I'm Irish and German, I have potatoes in my blood, for heaven's sake. Well, potatoes and beer.
If I never see another spud again, I'll be fine. Well, until next Thanksgiving, anyway. I still remember the Thanksgiving after I'd been in bed sick for two weeks. All I could eat was the potatoes and gravy, and I was in heaven. Shows how your perspective can change

So sue me, it's yummy AND healthy!

August 8th 2008 11:24
I'm enjoying my snack so much! It's 4:15am, I have to be ready to leave in less than two hours, so I'm doing what's easy and works.
I have a bowl of cherries, blueberries and red grapes. I have saltine crackers. And I have unsalted peanut butter. And iced water. And it's all just plain yummy. There's doggie bag Thai in the fridge, and it's a bit tempting, but I'll save that for breakfast next hour.
There's a new sushi place just opening this weekend at Apple Valley Road. That will make three sushi restaurants in the vicinity of the same intersection in this hick town! I never thought I'd see the day. When I first moved up here six years ago, I had to drive to Victorville (15 miles) to get mediocre to awful Japanese food. Now they're competing for me

Well, a nice local version of earthquake the other day. It was rated at 5.4, which is moderate, and well within the tolerances of most Californians. We've done a lot of retrofitting and good construction, so a 5.4, unless it's right at the surface which doesn't happen much, is really mostly entertaining for most of us.

on Meringue, Pavlova, or Omlette o' Death?

August 14th 2008 07:19
This totally sucks, Lady. Unfortunately, what a lot of people don't realize is that allergies are hystaminic reactions to proteins. I'm allergic to dairy. So I can eat butter but I can't drink milk.
Everyone's first reaction is, oh, you're lactose intolerant. Yes, I am, but that has nothing to do with it. The more casein (milk protein) in something, the less I can tolerate it.
Oh, but you can eat butter, huh? Yeah, there's very little casein left once you've extracted just the fat.
I've sat at holiday meals with people who love me, and the table was loaded with things that were made with milk and/or cheese. From the appetizers to dessert. But they had made a special beef dish because some other guest has a religious problem with pork. And a special fruit thing for the diabetic's dessert. Even potato gnocchi because someone was allergic to wheat!
"Oh, it's just a little bit of cheese, it won't kill you!" Well, no, it hasn't yet, but I don't want to start now!

on The Wisdom of Krishnamurti

July 20th 2008 02:56
I also found this, and thought I would offer it as background. Along with it is a link to Krishnamurti's Wikipedia biography.

The World Crisis

According to Krishnamurti, many problems in the world such as poverty, war, the nuclear threat, and other unfortunate circumstances, have their roots in our thinking. We live and behave according to our thinking and therefore wars and governments are a result of our thinking. We each have our own particular beliefs, conclusions, and experiences, to which we cling, thereby isolating ourselves from others. Self centered activity is expressed outwardly as nationalism and religious intolerance, creating a world divided, in which we are willing to kill for the sake of belief. Understanding our relationship with the world crisis is necessary to understand ourselves.[84]

Along with the influence of our thinking on the world crisis - and the way society functions - there is also a reciprocal influence from society on our thinking. This mainly manifests itself as the process of our adapting to society.[85] Independent thinking becomes almost impossible when one feels forced to adapt to society, but as such thinking is necessary for intelligence to operate, the impasse creates a problem.
