Paragraph 16,Poem = Temptation
November 5th 2008 01:51
This poem could define so many things, that would tempt a person.
It for me, is the idea, that depression can tempt me to want to commit
harm, by way of death, to myself. Not that I would. But, sometimes this
dark state in which I dwell, becomes, too hard to bear. And the idea, will
cross my mind on occasion.
I reach for it, my mind saying no!
For, it's the devils offerings,
all wrapped up in gold.
My conscience, won't allow me to
grasp it in my hand. And, so
I let it go this time.
Yet, just as it is offered now,
it is always sitting on the table
perceiving,
a moment of weakness.
It for me, is the idea, that depression can tempt me to want to commit
harm, by way of death, to myself. Not that I would. But, sometimes this
dark state in which I dwell, becomes, too hard to bear. And the idea, will
cross my mind on occasion.
I reach for it, my mind saying no!
all wrapped up in gold.
My conscience, won't allow me to
grasp it in my hand. And, so
I let it go this time.
Yet, just as it is offered now,
it is always sitting on the table
perceiving,
a moment of weakness.
