A lesson learnt?

Rather than bore you with just the facts of a Liverpool 3-1 victory over Napoli, I'm going to let you know about two of the dumbest fans in the ground that night, myself and my friend Darron.
We aquired two free tickets from Darron's boss, which were in the Main Stand, by the Kop. In my eyes the Europa League isn't 'big time', so I thought i'd enjoy the game - win, lose or draw. My own personal thoughts behind this is that I hate the fact these games lead to us playing regulary on a Sunday and it takes us away from the bread and butter of the Premiership. Yes, due to TV , Sunday games will happen, but not as often as they do now.
Roy Hodgson had the same idea I think! He choose to rest Torres and Gerrard. Instead he played the likes of Ngog and Poulsen. My hopes on a win dwindled when I heard our #28 was playing again - great I thought, we're playing with ten men! Although the selections of Shelvey and Spearing were encouraging. At least we had some English youth on the pitch, something that hasn't happened much over the past years.
It was interesting sitting in the Main Stand, as its been a few years since i've sat in this part of the ground. One thing that was better was the leg room, although i'm still unsure whether the wooden seat is more comfortable than a plastic one!! Something that did stick out was the number of Napoli fans that were in the same area, infact right next to us. To be fair to them, they were only there to cheer on their team and no trouble occurred - but what were the club thinking selling these tickets after all the trouble the other week? Yes, maybe it was touts, but surely not that amount?
In the first half Liverpool were not on song, although Shelvey & Spearing couldn't be faulted and David Ngog ran his heart out. However it was Napoli who went in 1-0 ahead thanks to a Ezequiel Lavezzi goal - no thanks to a mistimed header by the useless Poulsen. As with previous games I just felt that the manager just hadn't got his tactics right again, with Raul Meireles this time playing just behind Ngog.
It was poor. Myself and Darron discussed possibly leaving a little earlier. No final decision was made.
During the half time break Gerrard warmed up on the pitch, this to me meant he was going straight on in the 2nd half and I was right. Infact it wouldn't have suprised me if he had made this decision rather than the manager as he was needed asap! Straight away Liverpool looked a better team, but chances were still being wasted. Eventually in the 75 minute Gerrard charged through and equalised. It looked like the Reds had managed a draw.
As the game went by myself and Darron discussed about when to leave, after joking earlier about 70 and 75 minutes, we decided to see how things were after 80. As 80 hit the game seemed to be heading for a draw, but we decided to give it to 85 - I mean what can happen in 5 minutes? So the 85 minute came and we left.
As we left the stadium we heard a small roar, followed by a bigger roar. We'd missed Liverpool gain a penalty and Gerrard get a 2nd goal. Oh well we thought, we'd rather score a goal and miss it rather than stay and not score at all. We carried on down the road towards the car, joking how we'd missed a goal. Then we heard another roar, we'd missed another goal! Not any goal, but possibly the best of the night and Gerrard's hatrick! We both shook our heads it was too late now, but we'd made a huge mistake! One I doubt we'll ever do again!!!!!
Saying that this is about the 7th time i've missed a goal(s) due to an early dart and i'd obviously not learnt me lesson - perhaps this time I pray I have!!! At least in the end we won 3-1! Anyone that reads this please note - DON'T LEAVE A GAME EARLY!!!!
