Out of the darkness (Poem)

There is a hard feeling deep down in my heart
It stifles my soul and tears me apart
It covers my senses and makes me feel cold.
The dark that surrounds me has taken its hold.
The tears keep on flowing they roll down my cheek.
To live is too painful it's making me weak.
Each night there's a nightmare instead of a dream
but my voice is so worthless I can't even scream
There's no point to night time not even to day
Sometimes I just wish I could take it away
But outside the darkness a light I can see
Someone is out there and waiting for me
Into the shadows a hand takes me hold.
It pulls me from darkness and takes me from cold
Two arms wrap around me and silence my woes
A friend sent from somewhere in a world full of foes
Someone who's been there and won their own fight.
He's come through the darkness and shown me the light.
And although I've not met you and may never do
My life is much brighter, its all cos of you.
I'd like to say thankyou to you and your band
Music that found and took hold of my hand
You gave me the strength to get through the cold
Gerard, you've saved me and showed me my soul.
If ever you feel that you cannot go on
remember your light was one that was shone

That if I have nothing I still have me
