There you have it. Dwight Howard and the magics win Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
YESTERDAY I bulleted some of the points the teams should consider. Let us see if those points really mattered.
WHAT ORLANDO HAS DONE
I mentioned that Orlando has to pound the ball inside. This is exactly what Dwight Howard did. He scored 30 points, and grabbed 13 rebounds.
The Magics guard played pretty good D on Mo and Delonte, especially in the final seconds of the game.
The Magics hit 45% of their shots from the rainbow territory. The all-important of which is the triple made by Lewis to lift Orlando pass the Cavaliers.
Everything went right except for Howard committing sixth foul, with Lebron making a 3-point play. That was close. They have to be careful next time.
WHAT CLEVELAND HAS NOT DONE
Alston is a revelation with 11 points. They have to inflict him with pesky defense and make him out- of- rhythm the next time.
The Cavaliers left some Magics open in the three-point line. Hedo, Rashard, Pietrus maximized those opportunities.
Lebron james made excellent kick-out passes to his teammates. But the guys failed to bring down important shots. They need to make those shots.
