Yaris vs Yaris

July 18th 2006 23:38

Hehe, found this online crazy Yaris game. For those that don't know, the Toyota Yaris has been brought out in Australia to replace the small car market that Toyota had presence in with the Toyota Echo. Having seen and ridden in one in the flesh i can say its a great practical car. Its roomy inside for a "small" car, and its got a bit of poke to it. All with great fuel efficiency (especially the Hybrid version) and a good price you can't look past it for a small car.

Why Space Savers are Unsafe

July 17th 2006 23:30

Too many ‘compact’ cars nowadays are equipped with “space savers” as their spare tyres. Space Savers are tyres with an incredibly small diameter and width designed with saving space and weight when it comes to small vehicles.

Long Distance Driving Tips

July 16th 2006 23:32
I just spent a week in Canberra, about a 300km drive from Sydney. So with an average highway speed of 110km/h it translated to just short of a 3 hour drive one way, right? Wrong!

They Sydney-Canberra (and Canberra-Sydney) drive is a fairly standard long distance drive. Not short enough to do without a comfortable break but not long enough that you need to spend a whole day at it. There are a couple things I find useful when driving these long distances for the safest drive possible. The simplest things can be the most effective too!

Hehe, we have all laughed as we drive past cars with funny/try-hard license plates like 2SXC4U (Too sexy for you) or YBEZY4 (Why be easy for?)

The Chaser's War on Everything (hilarious skit show) decided to mock parking infringement officers and hand out fines for stupid license plates.

Nissan's 450z

July 11th 2006 01:33
Are you bored by the Nissan's 350z? If you do happen to be in the minority and find the 350z too slow then you might be interested to know that Nissan are considering releasing a 450z!

The 450z will contain nothing less than a 4.5L V8 engine giving around 400bhp in a 4 whel drive drivetrain. This is in contrast to the 3.5L V6 found in the curent 350z. THe V8 that they plan to inject into the 450z is already in use in the Japanese market in the Nissan Fuga and several US-Market Infiniti.

Traffic Tax in the City

July 6th 2006 05:55
They are at it again, finding ways to tax motorists as much as they can. In an article by Drive.com that can be found here, 'experts' are proposing that a traffic tax in the city will do us good.

What the traffic tax proposes is that motorists will be charged a toll when they enter the Sydney CBD in peak hours, encouraging people to take public transport and not use their cars as much as possible. Not a bad idea? Well it wouldn't be if our public transport system was reliable and convienient. The fact that many inner west train commuters have to wait 20 minutes just for a train to the city is ridiculous! What is the point of waiting 20 minutes, having your train delayed, getting in late for work and then being charged train fares that are ever increasing when you can simply drive to work in half the time and twice the convienience!

Blistering Tyres

July 4th 2006 05:03
There is probably only one thing I really loathe about washing your car. Its that you get so up close and personal with it that you notice all the imperfections with it. The small dings and scratches that accumulate over time, most of which are natural in the life of any car.

Anyway, washing my car yesterday, I noticed two of my tyres had blisters on them. What are blisters? Well here they are on my car

TRANSFORMERS MOVIE

July 2nd 2006 23:22
OMIGOD OMIGOD OMIGOD When I heard about this I got so excited. I remember a time when getting up on saturday mornings was worth it to catch the cartoons. I remember pushing an extra 5 minutes from mum to stay at home and watch Agro's Cartoon Connection. I remember when TRANSFORMERS was the best cartoon out there.

Now as I read about the Transformers Movie that is coming out on July 4 2007, a sense of nostalgia hits me as I reminisce about the all out war between the Autobots and Deceptacons, the neverending quest for energon cubes and my little Transfomer toys of Optimus Prime and Megatron I played with as a kid (sure to be worth a fortune on eBay now but alas I cannot find it).

on Men's Shoes

June 23rd 2006 02:23
Im starting to like thongs less and less...a bit too bummy and they make your feet dry and cracked (sometimes). Personally I would like a girl to wear something simple like some cute flats as opposed to thongs. Me personally i like to wear something covered but light...even a dunlop volley type shoe seem to be making a strong comeback.

And boots..i woudlnt go above ankle length at most, and that only hidden under work trousers.

ANYWAY, the question i have is, in my rush out the door this morning for work, i quickly threw together my outfit. It consisted of black pinstripe pants with a white morrisey shirt striped with different shade of pink. Now the stripes on the shirt are extremely faint and light and from a distance it just looks like a white shirt, but up close you can see the stripes. It looked a bit weird having stripes all the way from my shoulders down to my shoes. Horizontal striped shirt pinstripe pants. Yay or Nay??

Yep! For a quick wash and polish, i think its great! Although a big problem they must overcome is the whole stigma of waterless car washing and how it causes scratches.

Trina, good post. One of the biggest gripes i have with the bboy culture is the whole concept of battling one another. The point of purposely degrrading your opponent for self victory and satisfaction is a bit too much for me. I know some consider it a sport/lifestyle/game whatever and I guess its comparable to any other competitiong to defeat your opponent but when it gets personal its slightly different. Although I know people argue it breeds competition and drive to get better, the other question raised is are people striving to get better for themselves or simply to beat the other person?
Horses for courses though i still respect it.
