Orble Comment Ignore Link

July 6th 2009 01:20
You'll notice a new Ignore link underneath each comment on your blog when you are logged in.

Clicking on the Ignore link will prevent that blogger from leaving any further comments on that particular blog. Note that it does not report or delete the comment, use the other links for this if required.

The ignore link should also have some effect on anonymous commenters although this is not guaranteed.

Thanks,
Jon.

hey thats a good idea . . . i guess when a conversation is wearing thin you can just end it with the cyber equivalent of turning your hearing aid down

If you block an anonymous commenter, does that block all anonymous comments?

Also, is it possible to unignore someone?

Yeah, I just noticed right now, when I logging to my account, Jon! I'm going try to use it on those spammers, and hope it works!

Morgan -- great way of putting it Hopefully it will help prevent some of the more vigorous flare-ups.

Someone -- It will only block that particular anon commenter. If you want to block all anon comments use your blog's modify page. At the moment if you want to unignore someone then contact support.

Cheryl -- Great. It definitely gives you another more selective option.

Wilson -- I hope it works as well Should make my mornings a little more peaceful.

Has anyone tried to use this? I've not had any ignores created yet -- I thought there would be a deluge.

Ha Jon, maybe it's making people more civilised just by being there. It works better than you thought

on blogs that you contribute to but do not moderate (own) the [Ignore] button does not appear as an option

you also do not have the power to [Delete] on posts you make where you are a member but not an owner

in my case im talking about 20/20 and PADSOC etc
