Open Orble Blogs
December 7th 2006 00:01
Now that we have the individual adsense accounts up and working and people can easily get paid for posts on any blog I was pondering the creation of a number of open orble blogs which anyone can apply to post to -- and hopefully make some more ad revenue for the writers.
So all these Blogs would concentrate on "Timeless Posts" which have enduring relevance and which would attract search engine traffic. For instance posts on things like famous people and places. Kind of a like a the-writer-gets-paid wikipedia.
If enough people write for a particular blog I would be happy to spend some time and money doing some SEO work on them. It would also be easier to attract search engine traffic as each blog would be a sub-domain of Orble which already has some search-engine kudos and will hopefullly grow to have more over time.
Just to get the ball rolling here are a couple of suggestions:
people.orble.com (famous people)
places.orble.com (famous places?)
web.orble.com (websites, web terms?)
programming.orble.com
gadgets.orble.com
finance.orble.com
we can also do local sites such as sydney.orble.com.au or london.orble.co.uk for example.
If you have any suggestions for an open blog or want me to start any of the above let me know.
You can also of course start up your own collaborative blogs and recruit writers. The owner of a blog will get their ads placed on the homepage of the blog -- any writers will get their ads on the post pages. The advantage of using Orble subdomains is that it will take less time to start attracting a decent amount of search engine traffic.

There are already a few posts on sydney.orble.com.au. As I said above the main idea is to create "timeless" posts which have a long period of relevance and which people will search for through the search engines. Although I have no objection to regular Posts on any of the open blogs.
Each Post does not even have to be that long. Just a couple of sentences with an address or phone number for a business, or a paragraph description with a few helpful links for a gadget. The key to blogs like these is usually volume rather than super long posts.
We could also open up a few other "Orble Owned" blogs like sydney.diarystar.com.au if anyone wanted to write about an upcoming event.
Remember -- if you want to take part (and get paid) in these open blogs you have to get an adsense account and submit your client_id.
