One Too Many Chocolate Bars - And so it begins

One Too Many Chocolate Bars - March 2007

One Week On

March 15th 2007 09:07
Why is it that dieting is so darn hard?!?

I did well the first day and then the weekend arrived and with that presents of chocolate from my husband who had forgotten about the "D" word. I can't allow chocolate to just sit in the fridge for days on end and so over the course of the weekend and with the help of my three and a half year old son ate it all. Thankfully I didn't put any weight on from it. Also hubby decided to get me a bottle of one of my favourite wines so a huge glass went in the dinner I was cooking (a lemon, garlic and white wine chicken dish) and the rest of the bottle drank by me. I'm such a failure aren't I? LOL

The First Day is the Hardest

March 9th 2007 10:19
Today is the day... the dreaded Day One. It didn't really help matters that I didn't get as early a night as I'd wanted (darn Smallville and it's addiction), that my little monkey monster decided that 3.30am was a good time to wake us up and then decide he wanted to read his books... all of them and then to be woken up at 6am. So today I'm just a teeny weeny bit tired and tired Sarah wants junk food.

But I'm resisting. I had a healthy breakfast of fruit (a small tin of pears quarters) and I even managed to get in some exercising before having to leave for the playshool run. Exercises so far today consist of

And so it begins

March 8th 2007 10:06
I love love love chocolate but a time has come now where I think I need to love it less. Yes it's the dreaded diet word. Last summer I started a diet, not a Weight Watchers or Slimming World one, just my own. I cut out having an alcholic drink nearly every night or every other night and limited it to at first a couple beers either on a Friday or Saturday night but after a while I found I didn't even fancy that. I cut right back on my love of chocolate and my other love lots of butter of bread and toast. I went for daily walks in the park with my son Callum and he helped me keep count of my sit ups, press ups and joined in with my Davina McCall workout dvd. I did really well and within a couple months lost around 2 stone. Then came Christmas and then January and February, all those horrible months that you don't want to exercise but veg out in front of the television and eat rubbish. But now March is here with the sun shining, crisp fresh mornings and the thought that summer isn't that far away and I want to get into those lovely fashionable clothes this year.

So now it begins, the dietathon of 2007. I'm not sure how much weight exactly I want to loose, I just know I'd like to try and get into a size 14 or even better a size 12 (UK sizing) pair of jeans. Last year when I was dieting a message board I post at had a few of us trying to loose weight together etc and so we kept a daily record of how it was going. They all seem to have been good though and not let the weight creep on. I found the being able to keep a daily record and at times have peoples input good and an incentitive too so I thought that this time round I would keep a blog of how I'm doing and anyone is welcome to either give me advice or just tell me to get off my butt and do some sit ups. Please though be nice to me I have a lot of weight to loose and I think I'm in a way being quite brave doing this as a blog and don't know if I could handle too much criticism
