Seriously, I very much doubt that Dali, Picasso, Kandinsky, Ernstand and other artists within the cubism, surrealism, impressionism, expressionism, areas were not on some sort of hallucinogenic or psychedelic drugs. How else would you see and apply such images?

Same in music, some big big big names would be Hendrix, Cobain, Zeppelin, Floyd, many were notorious for performing whilst in their climatic high.

Funny realy, many of us are influenced by those who were influenced by illegal drug taking. Especialy since our generation can't seem to think of anything productively new within the arts (including fashion).

By the way, I'm sure there are many other ways to be successful

Love Dali`s work.... incredible genius! Thanks for the link.

I agree, some of the best work comes from an altered mind. I would write about the donkeys and hazy figures I have seen - but I don`t think anyone would understand.

Does anyone need to understand?

I remember hearing that Dali would deprive himself of sleep to gain the effect... I discovered the power of lack of sleep when I was at Woodford, waking up at the end of a Resin Dogs set to find i was... IN THE WRONG COMPUTER GAME... (yes only lack of sleep & maybe a little second hand pot smoke)

Hendrix would aparently put a tab of acid under his headband. As he got into it, he's sweat and absorb it into his forehead.

Aspirin laced Absinthe with a psilocybin tea usually helps me with my work when my imagination or my acid laced headband fails me.

The alternative: those artists needed new reality glasses.
