Showing some love

May 7th 2009 12:03
Well my 2 1/2 year old son is starting to show some interest in his 4 month old sister. Up until now he has done all he can to try and ignore her and keep her from his mommy.

But yesterday he went up to her when she was in her swing. Tried to give her a pasifier and said 'nite nite, close your eyes'. Those 5 words are the most he has said to her ever.

So it's progress.

but all good things do come to an end. He then grabbed the swing, pulled it back and pushed it as hard as he could. apparently it wasn't going fast enough.

My son's Dirty little secret

May 6th 2009 12:42
I always thought that some of my son's favorite things were his cars, blue puppy stuffed animal and his milk cup. But with the warm weather he has been going outsite more and more. I am learning that he really really really likes dirt.

Now some parents would say that most kids like to play in dirt, but junior really likes it alot. The other day he sat in a pile of dirt that I had just shoveled for almost an hour. Well he didn't really sit much. He stomped on it, threw it and let it fall through his hands.

But the really odd thing was he would lay down in it and just wiggle around in it. At one point he looked like he was making snow angels (actually dirt anagels).

Then comes the hard part. Getting him to come away from the dirt and get cleaned up. Not his favorite thing to do.

When is your child the happiest?

April 23rd 2009 12:44
I think my son is happiest when he is sitting on the potty, drinking a glass or water.

Let me explain.

We are trying to potty train him, so to get him comfortable sitting on the potty chair I have him sit on it before getting his bath. And I give him a cup of water. We are getting him used to drinking from regular 'big boy' cups so while he has no cloths on it seems like a good time to do it.

Anyway, he gets so excited when it's potty sitting big boy drinking time. He has a big smile on his face and always ask for 'more water'(also uses the sign for 'more' in sign language.

Most nights he has so much water that he eventually goes potty, but that also means that the risk of his diaper leaking at night increases.

But it's worth it to see him so happy.

WAKE UP!!!

April 21st 2009 19:24
I'm used to not being able to take a nap whenever I choose now that I have kids. But I didn't expect to get yelled at by my son when I just close my eyes. His new 'joke' is to scream very loadly 'WAKE UP' when he sees someone's eyes close. He has the biggest and cutest smile on him when he does it. Mainly because he thinks it's funny, which it is.
It's even better when he does it to his grandfathers who tend to fall asleep alot.

How our children make us laugh?

April 21st 2009 12:26
I have been a parent for 2 1/2 years now and I often comment to my wife that we could write a book on the funny things(and not so funny) that our son does. He is a very active, loud and interesting child. He now has a little sister to torment and it is getting funnier everyday.
So instead of writing that book, I thought I'd find another way to pass along some funny stories via this blog.
But not only do I like to tell funny stories of my kids, but I like to hear them as well. So if you have any, please share. Everyone needs a good laugh now and again

I tried Astronauts and only did 41/wpm. With 90% accuracy. I need some work.
