Well my 2 1/2 year old son is starting to show some interest in his 4 month old sister. Up until now he has done all he can to try and ignore her and keep her from his mommy.
But yesterday he went up to her when she was in her swing. Tried to give her a pasifier and said 'nite nite, close your eyes'. Those 5 words are the most he has said to her ever.
So it's progress.
but all good things do come to an end. He then grabbed the swing, pulled it back and pushed it as hard as he could. apparently it wasn't going fast enough.
I always thought that some of my son's favorite things were his cars, blue puppy stuffed animal and his milk cup. But with the warm weather he has been going outsite more and more. I am learning that he really really really likes dirt.
Now some parents would say that most kids like to play in dirt, but junior really likes it alot. The other day he sat in a pile of dirt that I had just shoveled for almost an hour. Well he didn't really sit much. He stomped on it, threw it and let it fall through his hands.
But the really odd thing was he would lay down in it and just wiggle around in it. At one point he looked like he was making snow angels (actually dirt anagels).
Then comes the hard part. Getting him to come away from the dirt and get cleaned up. Not his favorite thing to do.
I think my son is happiest when he is sitting on the potty, drinking a glass or water.
Let me explain.
We are trying to potty train him, so to get him comfortable sitting on the potty chair I have him sit on it before getting his bath. And I give him a cup of water. We are getting him used to drinking from regular 'big boy' cups so while he has no cloths on it seems like a good time to do it.
Anyway, he gets so excited when it's potty sitting big boy drinking time. He has a big smile on his face and always ask for 'more water'(also uses the sign for 'more' in sign language.
Most nights he has so much water that he eventually goes potty, but that also means that the risk of his diaper leaking at night increases.
But it's worth it to see him so happy.
