On To The New Project
July 2nd 2007 18:55
Because I'm masochistic I fiddled with my blog formats&crap. I'm not done yet either.
Also because I'm masochistic I'm supposed to write 11 000 words tonight and edit 11 odd chapters of my book. 6K of those words are my new novel-length project.
I'm having a vote between these two ideas:
-1- The Last Sanctuary is a place where the Elves, Fairies, and dwarves have hidden for nearly ten thousand years, ever since the Ultimate Blasphemy. It's a small island barely visible from the main continent, with woodlands and a single mountain at the north corner, so to speak. A tiny white sand beach has their fishing dock and such. They live remote lives away from humans, and spend much of their time learning how to block out the mind power s of the Telar.
So when Mira, the youngest of the female elves at barely forty years old, discovers a young Telar shipwrecked to their sanctuary, things start to get interesting. The Council is called and the decision is made to kill the boy. But Mira, who seems to have fallen in love, might have something to say about that...
-2- (not 3, as I nearly typed) She was born on August fourteenth, in the fourteenth year of the Golden Age. But she was not born where the Golden Age is. No, she was born north of it, where her country, Tar'Ig'Vor, has been left to its own inner turmoil. As they did once before to end a series of wars, her country's rebellion must call upon a demon from Moonshadow for help to end the civil war that has been destroying her country.
When she turns fourteen she is brought into this world of madness, away from aristocratic life which carefully ignores the poverty and warfare, by a rebellion kidnapper. Originally wanting her for her usefulness as a hostage, they have now decided she might be useful. With her bizarre talent, she must cross the Telar lands and hope to survive Moonshadow's walking dead in order to find this demon-
Turns out, she's got competition.
----------------------------- -----------------------
Both stories take place in the same world, just different parts of it, as Moonshadow. (Duh for the second one)
