On Leaving Orble
November 19th 2011 06:49
Much as I love it here... I'm going to have to find a new home soon.
No kidding, I do love the Orble community. I've found many, many informative and amusing blogs here, and a most helpful and supportive culture that I'll miss when I'lI leave.
So why am I thinking of leaving?
1. They promised a path to a "domain blog" that may or may not pay money, but that was at least attainable. However, their own instructions regarding the issue were contradictory, and they have not responded to any of my questions for clarification.
2. See above. They are completely nonresponsive to posts on their own "Writers' Forum" and to emails on their own posted link. They are obviously either gone or they don't care anymore.
3. I hate the feeling that this site is on automatic pilot. Where are you, Orble?
4. I never expected to make a lot of money from this one blog - but I'd like to have at least the opportunity to have some eligibility to make make money from ad clicks. Orble tells me in one place that this isn't possible without a "domain blog," yet they tell me in other places that we'll be "automatically" be considered for a domain blog, yet they don't respond to my questions about their own contradictory "rules." WTF?
Reading over all of the above, I see that my overall consideration is the lack of responsiveness from them. Does anybody else have these concerns?
11/23/11: And now? Now the "My Profile" link seems to be broken.
Is anybody home here?
