OMG
January 23rd 2011 17:43
Granted I come from the black and white era of TV. A time when watching a program was a family event—except of course for the nightly news which was reserved for parents after the kids were tucked neatly in their beds. But regular programming was, let's call it vanilla. I can't recall once being rushed out of the room due to "adult content". Although I was never allowed to watch "Laugh-In". Not a child of the 70's? Google it.
My God"—that made me cringe a little just typing it.
I'm not saying bring back the antiquated "Gosh Darns", but for heavens sake—hey that's a good one—let's stop 6-year-olds from using the term OMG. If one of my own kids or grand kids said it they would be burping up soap.
Call me idealistic (please). I realize it's not something that is going to change anytime soon. So when I am watching a show with little ones and hear an OMG or LMAO, or a WTF, or the like, I will tell my kids when that actor kid gets home he's gonna get a mouth full of Ivory from his real mommy.
