Nose Job
Big or long noses have long been recognized as a form of divine punishment or symbol of shame the world over. The original story of Pinocchio is the best known example, but similar stories of noses growing as punishment have existed even in relatively disparate places and cultures such as pre-Columbian South America and the Orient. In Japan, long-nosed goblins called Tengu are reincarnations of disgraced samurai, their long noses one of their punishments. The nose after all is recognized as a very important feature and is the central feature on the face and a large nose is not easily hidden from view. In fact, the connotations of nose growth may be related to one of the reasons that growing female noses are sexually exciting for many of us.
