1-T. Ray Lewis (ILB) Ray Lewis is still the best, despite his age.
1-T. Patrick Willis (ILB) The best player on defense physically.
3-T. DeMarcus Ware (OLB) Best rusher from the LB position today, doesn't
cover as well as he could though.
3-T. London Fletcher (MLB) If anybodys underrated in sports, its this guy.
5. Bart Scott (ILB) Should help the Jets get to the Super Bowl this year.
6. Lofa Tatupu (MLB) Very good, just plays on a bad team.
7-T. David Harris (ILB) He needs a new contract, now.
7-T. Jon Beason (MLB) Heart of the Panthers defense.
9. DeMeco Ryans (MLB) The heart of the Texans, dont understand why they were trying to trade him.
10. Lance Briggs (OLB) The best complete OLB.
11. Jerod Mayo (ILB) The cornerstone LB of the Patriots.
12. Jonathan Vilma (MLB) Super Bowl champion, was one of the few people doing something on defense.
13. Terrell Suggs (OLB) One of the best OLBs in the NFL, paid like one too.
14. Shaun Phillips (OLB) Now that Cromartie and Jamal Williams are gone, hell have to step up even more now.
15. Elvis Dumervil (OLB) Basically like a second DE from the LB spot.
16. Rolando McClain (MLB) Probably the top 3 most pro-ready players of this draft, should make an immediate impact for the Raiders.
17. James Harrison (OLB) All he is is the blitz. Way overrated in my opinion.
18. Bryan Urlacher (MLB) Getting old and injuries are starting to get him now. Hes still good, just not great any more.
19. Joey Porter (OLB) This guy plays like hes still 28 years old.
20. Brian Cushing (OLB) Despite eligibly using illegal substances, even though the team knew about it, he is the undisputed RDPOY, and still a heck of a player.
Comment if you think I missed something.
Despite his age, still on top.
First off, hey everyone, Im sorry for not posting for a long while, my internet broke down and I just got done fixing it. Bad news though, Ill be moving next Monday which means, no posting for a while most likely again. Anyways, you guys arent interested in this, so heres the real reason youre reading this.
Quarterback: Joe Flacco is a very good quarterback, even if he only had Mason at receiver. Although to be fair, he does have Heap, but he's slowly ageing. He also has one of the better, if not one of the best, protections in the league and Ray Rice and Willis McGahee at his disposal, which is one of the best running crew in the league today, and play actions will make the difference. He will be better now with more experience and with Dante Stallworth and Anquan Boldin at receivers.
Grade: A-
Running back: Ray Rice, Willis McGahee, and fullback LeRon McClain are some of the best running backs in the NFL today. McGahee is underrated due to Ray Rice, who easily cracks the top 5 RBs today, starting. We all saw what happened to the Raiders when McGahee took over. LeRon McClain is the best lead blocking fullback today. He reminds me a little of Lorenzo Neal with L.T., and hes a big part of the reason Ray Rice has been so successful. With some of the best blocking in the league too, easily in my opinion, the best running crew in the league.
Grade: A
Receivers: Anquan Boldin, Donte Stallworth, Derrick Mason, Todd Heap, Mark Clayton, and Demetrius Williams will do great this year, thanks to a very good QB, very good running game, very good blocking, experience between the top 3 receiver and the TE, which will be passed on to Clayton and Williams. They will do very good, and for 4th 5th receivers, Clayton and Williams will have a lot of success, but they wont get much playing time if they do at all.
Grade: B
Offensive line: Easily one of the best, and they have proved it last year with great pass protection and great run blocking.
Grade: A-
Defensive line: Ngata Haloti at NT/DE, Gregg Kelly at DT, and newly addition of Terrence Cody at DT from Alabama, and this boy can play, and Trevor Pryce at DE, they will be at worst average this year.
Grade: B
Linebackers: Ok, I shouldnt even have to write about this but I will anyways. Ray Lewis, Sergio Kindle, and underrated Tavares Gooden will, like they always do, dominate. Period. Tavares came out from Miami U, and played for 3 years under Ray, which means hell be heck of a lot great also. And any time you get a LB from Miami, you know theyre the real stuff. They will dominate, but it seems like to me theyll be playing a lot of 4-3 defense, which means Tavares might or might not play a whole lot, which means weak link out.
Grade: A
Defensive backs: Safeties Ed Reed and Dawan Landry are one of the best safety crews in the game. Domonique Foxworth and Fabian Washington are average at best CBs, and Fabian, maybe a little better than average at best. Ed and Dawan will help out a lot, but theres a limit to how much they can help, so this will be the weakest point of the team.
Grade: B-, but sooo close to dropping to C because of CBs.
Kicker: Sigh, this position has been the thing thats killed the Ravens last year. If I remember, they lost maybe 2~4 games due to terrible kickers. They need a good kicker. Fast.
Grade: D
Punter: Sam Koch will help a lot when the O cant get it done. Hes an asset to have.
Grade: B
Return game: Lardarius Webb is an underrated returner, since there are so many others putting up so much points and getting all the attention like Rice. Also, Ed Reed contributes at times, and hes pretty effective.
Grade: B-
Each unit, I grade them as this:
Passing game: A-
Running game: A
Pass defense: B
Run defense: A
This team has a lot of great leaders, such as Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, and Sergio and Dante wont have much, if any, problems at all now, and this is a mix of some young and some old. This team will go far into the playoffs this year to say the least.
Overall team grade: B by average (86.7 by averaging), how it will work with chemistry and such, I grade them A-, Aish. Pretty close.
Hello readers, first off, let me introduce myself. My name is O.J. Lewis, and Im from California, I love USC and Miami, and my favorite NFL teams are the Ravens, Chargers, 49ers, and the Jets. My favorite player is Ray Lewis, and my favorite coach would have to be either Bill Belichick or Rex Ryan. And as Joe said, Ill be writing about football, both college and NFL. Its nice to be here and thank you all for reading my articles, and thank you Joe for giving me the chance to work with you.
Third in the state of California in total rushing with 9,662 career rushing yards in high school. Gatorade California Player of the Year. 1,136 rushing yards averaging 5.4 YDs per carries and 15 rushing TDs as a junior in college. 1,871 rushing yards averaging 5.5YDs per carries and 28 rushing TDs as a senior in college. The closest runner up for the Hiesman Trophy in history to Mark Ingram. Doesnt that resume seem like that person proved himself already? Well, apparently not.
Well, that's what they're telling Toby Gerhart. It cant be about him being too slow (a little below average 4.5 in the 40, I mean, it is the offseason and all, you cant expect him to still be on a super strict diet and training schedule, and he also ran a 4.4 in HS and during football seasons), since if you see him actually play like I did when I was watching the USC game, hes a very fast player. Maybe not C.J. Spiller or Chris Johnson fast, but fast enough to be a RB at the next level. He leveled LBs such as Clay Matthews and Brian Cushing as a junior, so you know hes got the strength. Hes 61, 235 lbs, so it cant be his size. It cant be his intelligence, since, really? Did I even have to mention this? Hes from Stanford! So since it isnt his speed, strength, size, or intelligence, what can it be? Being injury prone? I mean, going against the likes of Brian Cushing, Rey Maualuga, Clay Matthews, and Taylor Mays and such for the last two years and not being injured other than a knee injury, which you really cant help as a RB when defenders dive at your legs and such.
So what is the thing that makes him lesser than other running backs? Hes white. Even as he was coming out of high school, there were questions of him being able to play at the next level. The receiver of the Gatorade California Player of the Year. He was also recruited by USC, Tailback U, but when he asked about him playing RB there, USC told Gerhart they might give him a chance to try out at that spot, but basically told him they were looking at him as only a LB. Now look at Gerhart compared to USCs RBs.
This racism, is an unfair, and an ugly thing. White running backs, white receivers, black quarterbacks, they all get negative responses since, were all used black RBs, black WRs, white QBs, and such being the norm. Like Troy Smith, the 06 Hiesman Trophy winner from Ohio State. His career passing stats being 420/670 passes completed, which is 62.7% for 5,720 YDs, 54 TDs, 13 Ints, and 159.72 QB rating, and his rushing stats being 1,197 YDs on 283 attempts, averaging 4.2 YDs per carry for 14 total TDs. He was drafted in the 5th round, being pick no. 174. The only question was about his height at 6 feet. Thats the same height at Drew Brees. A Heisman winner would probably be even considered around 2nd ~ 3rd round at least normally, wouldnt you think?
So what Im saying is, Gerhart shouldnt be overlooked just because of his race. Nobody should. We are all human beings. Just remember, whoever youre talking about is human before he, or she, is his, or her, own nationality and such.

Comment by O.J. Lewis
on Terrell Owens and Ochocinco Unite
But on the sad part, Jack "The Assassin" Tatum's passing away is tradgic, being only 61 and all.
Good luck to his family, God bless you guys.
