Well... WWE's TV shows are usually at their highest quality leading up to Mania, and I'd say that today's ep was a really good one. Nothing that great wrestling-wise, but there were a couple of good angles and overall, it began the buildup to Mania nicely.
The opening segment with HHH, Orton and Cena was very well done, I thought. I'm glad they decided to keep Orton in the picture. Normally these segments (where the GM comes out and announces the inevitable match) are the same old stuff, but the reveal that HHH would be the guest ref was actually an interesting development and I'm sure it kept a lot of folks wanting to watch on. The two MITB qualifying matches were nothing special, and the crowd seemed dead in both of them, particulary Kennedy/Val, probably due to how predictable the outcomes were. And speaking of Kennedy as well as Jeff Hardy... the theme music changes weren't really needed; I liked their previous ones better. But apparently there's a new WWE CD coming out and those are the tracks on it, so they'll probably just be keeping it for a while until the CD tanks and then eventually go back to their old ones. At least neither of them was as bad as the shitty "Can You Dig It" remix they had Booker come out to for quite some time in 2003. Jericho continues to be more and more of an afterthought, unfortunately. He wasn't even on the show! And it looks like the JBL feud is over. Wouldn't surprise me if he's just chucked into the MITB match. I enjoyed the Big Show/Mayweather segment, although I am kinda hoping they turn it into a tag match for Mania as opposed to one-on-one, as the height difference is just so noticeable, I can't see how they'd be able to have a competitive match without Show looking weak. And I'm thinking the oposite for JBL/Finlay. The beat-down in the cage was wonderful. It's about time they've had a heel beat on Hornswoggle. I thought the whole segment was great, and I'm really hoping they just go for a one on one JBL V Finlay brawl at Mania as opposed to a tag match with Hornswoggle and Vince involved (which would likely just be a comedy match). And finally, it was good to see Candice return. Glad they're (seemingly) going for Beth Phoenix V Candice at Mania as opposed to the rumoured Phoenix V Ashley or Phoenix V Maria. Overall, I enjoyed this week's episode. What did you think ??

RAW THOUGHTS
US airdate: Jan 14 2008. Raw this week was nothing fantastic, but still quite an entertaining show. Again, Jeff Hardy was the MVP, as his star continues to rise. He really is becoming a bonafide main-eventer, which is great. His promos are also improving tenfold-- the opening confrontation with Orton was quite good. The 6-diva tag was alright I guess, but nothing different to what we see every other week. Michael's new inverted figure four submission looked really good! Snitzky/HHH wasn't too bad, actually. The ruining of the titan-tron though, was pretty lame, although I look forward to seeing the new Raw and SD! sets next week. It's been a while since they've done a set change, so I wonder what they have in store. JBL's segment- as always- was really good. Gotta love all the extravagent pyro!! The 'mini' Rumble wasn't as bad as you may think. I didn't mind it, actually. But I reckon they need to have Khali beat down on Hornswoggle at least once in this feud. Its been going on for a few months now and I don't think Khali has left him laying once. It's becoming a bit repetitive, actually. Damn, it was disappointing that Regal/Flair was so short. I was looking forward to a good match between the two. And while I admit I was a bit disappointed by the Orton V Jeff bait-and-switch, I suppose it was the best thing to do, considering they're facing eachother at the Rumble. And the big Hardy spot to close the show made up for it. Another highlight-reel moment from Jeff! IF YOU MISSED IT: All the Jeff/Randy stuff was worth watching, especially the big leap at the end. And JBL's intense promo was good as well. Apart from that though, nothing else is really worth checking out on this one.

Raw Roulette thoughtsJanuary 9th 2008 06:51
Raw this week was saved by the main-event which was truly fantastic. Everything else ranged from pretty good (Regal V HHH, First Blood) to completely lame (lingerie pillowfight, Carlito V Holly).
Foley's appearances are always entertaining, and it was good to see the crowd pop for him big, considering they've been pretty flat for him during his last few appearances. Him and Hornswoggle in the Rumble should be great. I wonder if there are any Foley plans for Mania this year

Raw 15th Anniversary Show thoughtsDecember 13th 2007 13:02
Wow. This was the most enjoyable wrestling show I've seen in quite some time. Sure, the morons at Foxtel butchered it quite badly (editing out half of Hogan's promos, the entire Jillian/Lita/Trish segment, Marty and HBK's backstage reunion, and what would have to be about a dozen highlight packages). Seriously, screw them. God forbid they don't air an episode of King Of The Hill that's on its 7000th repeat. Anyways, enought ranting about Foxtel and onto the show.
The opening segment was a lot of fun. Hornswoggle is really getting mega-over which is great!! You gotta love him! The whole segment just worked-- the cameos were all great ("Abe 'Knuckleball' Schwartz!"), and it was good to see Sunny back (and looking pretty good too!). I do reckon they should've made her return a bit more big a deal though. They could've at least given her some mic time. I'm actually surprised that the Net isn't up in arms about Vince's line about doing Mae at Moolah's funeral. Usually whenever something like that happens, people write thousand-word rants about how disrespectful Vince is, etc., etc

This one's really funny, especially Christian's line about Jeff looking like someone took a dump on his face. Great stuff! Edge and Christian were terrific!

ECW December 6 thoughtsDecember 6th 2007 11:37
Not a bad ep of ECW today. I enjoyed it.
Miz/Morrison V The Majors was alright. I wish the Majors would do that double leapfrog spot again (which they used to do in their earlier matches)-- that was always awesome to look at. And it's good how they've been giving the Majors some interview time lately (via the box in the corner of the screen) to establish some personality

Raw December 5 2007 thoughtsDecember 5th 2007 11:15
Pretty good episode of Raw this week, I thought.
The opening segment was alright I suppose, although it wasn't anything we haven't seen a million times before. The crowd don't seem to be that much into Jericho as I imagined they would be-- he definitely isn't getting 'main event face' pops. Hopefully he turns heel soon, because everyone knows Heel Jericho >> Face Jericho

This one is pretty funny, and I didn't even know anything about it until I saw it today. Goes to show, you can find anything on YouTube!
This is from the TV show The Dating Game... with bachelors Billy Kidman, Disco Inferno and Chris Jericho
