Nothing is Tiring

Yesterday, my third last day of my official employment was painfully exhausting for all the wrong reasons.
Eight hours of doing nothing is a very very long time.
What made it worse was that my boss came in and was at his desk - directly opposite mine - for most the day. This meant I couldn't completed bludge, read magazines, lie on the couch, read my book etc. I had to sit at my desk making it look like I was doing something, even though both of us know there is absolutely seriously nothing left for me to do. Ok so I answered about six phone calls throughout the say, but most of the time it was for next door's office when they went for ciggie breaks.
My googling skills of lateral searching are even failing me somehow. Is it possible that it's actual a rare slow news week? I've looked through all the online friendship sites (hi5, Bebo, myspace etc) where my friends have profiles. I look at all their galleries, read their blogs, leave comments and then have a squiz at their friends list to see if there's anyone interesting that I might invite onto my list for no reason other than they have a nice body or similar taste in music. I look at the clock and it's been only one hour gone... now what?
My usual avenue of time wasting - job searches - is absolutely pathetic at this time of year. Seek, mycareer, and careerone, are all seriously lacking, only getting a new job posting every hour or so...
Any suggestions on how to make the days pass quicker, whilst looking like I am working?
