Nile

March 3rd 2011 08:14
Almighty Nile! One of the greatest bands in the death metal scene.

Nile represents american extreme brutal death metal genre with precise guitar riffs, complex and intense drumming and well developed songs. Tracks are fast, all written in insane tempos.

Karl Sanders writes majority if not all of the lyrics and is the mastermind behind Nile. Because of his interest in egyptology, most of Nile's lyrics are about Egypt, but also Lovercraft, art, history. George Kollias is one of the greatest, living drummers.

Mudvayne

February 28th 2011 09:30
Many people hate this term, but I will use it here - Mudvayne are playing Nu-Metal. Lots of good Nu-Metal. Sometimes there is more math than in usual nu-metal, more groove, sound is more machine-like. Songs happen to be very melodic, reminding of Cynic. Mudvayne created 8 albums in their career, the list closes their self-titled cd from 2009.

Mudvayne is one of my favourite bands.

Rotofobia - indie

They are not big and I don't think they will ever be. However they have written some of the best indie stuff that exists - honestly, I have heard bits of pieces of their music here and there, they are not innovative, but as a whole they sound amazing. Rotofobia has its own style, a little dreamy, emotional and, well, indie. There are lots of repetetive electric guitars bends, bassy synths and tons of feedback, especially during live gigs.
As far as I can tell, Rotofobia's next album would sound very much different. Check out rotofobia.com if you want to know more.

M83

February 25th 2011 07:16
One of a kind electronic music project by Anthony Gonzalez. Songs are full of spacey keyboards and synths, are nice, warm with pixelated atmosphere. Lots of space, M83 seem to be flowing smoothly into ears.

Too bad their haven't achieved a real commercial success like, for example, almighty MGMT
