C-Wing Progress Report 30th August 3068

Since my last communiqué, we have found some evidence of civilization which
we found buried beneath the planetary surface in a small bunker of some sort.
It was a stroke of good fortune, that the geological team ran a surface scan and
noted a magnetic anomaly on their readings. After checking that it wasn’t
a natural phenomenon, they notified my team and we proceeded to excavate
with laser moles until we came to the object in question. Whilst taking surface
readings, we discovered that it was hollow inside and after clearing the
surrounding debris away, we found what appeared to be an entrance way of
some sort.
We set up a nul-field to prevent any contamination from the outside
environment, before entering inside whilst wearing protective breather suits.
There was very little inside apart from some unidentifiable organic remains that
need to be more closely examined and the fragments of some sort of mechanical
devices.
But the most important item we found, had been placed within a small protective
containment system which had preserved its contents remarkably well.
Due to the nature of the next segment of my report, the
transmission will be triple encrypted, please program your
system to keep up with incoming data.
We placed the item in a portable bio-tech scanner and ran our tests, subjecting
it to various spectrum analysis, before we got an unexpected result. It seemed
to be a journal of some kind, although only the last nine page’s were readable
due to outside environmental damage having occurred in the past. Here follows
the full translated transcript of what we found.

Finally a first contact situation, one of our deep space probes ran smack into
an alien space craft, apparently from what I have been told the video footage
is quite spectacular. Someone is quoted as saying it looked like a swirling
pulsating silver mist, although our probe was unable to pass through it and
contact was lost shortly after. Our long range radar on the moon has picked
up an unidentified mass approaching the earth solar system at an incredible
speed, it also seemed to be following the radio signals that we controlled the
probe with.

As to be expected, the possibility of alien contact has thrown the world’s leaders
into a small panic. The Combined States of the Americas, tried to keep this a
secret, although the Sino-Soviet Block soon got wind of it, from one of their
agents I should imagine. The Pacific-Oceania Consortium has communicated
with other nations as to course of action and is awaiting further information
on developments from their own long range tracking station.
The Sino-Soviet Block ( SSB ) has accused the Combined States of the Americas
or ( CSA) of attempting to manipulate the media as to enable the CSA military
to position a tactical first strike weapon under the cover of an alien contact story.
The CSA has denied any such weapon exists, but such is the mistrust between the
two, that the SSB has placed all its forces across Asia and Europe at heightened
alert. Of course this led to a retaliatory move by the CSA to place its military on
to a Defcon-3 setting.

Report from a deep space research facility orbiting Pluto, arrived today by
emergency sub-space channel, it had been broadcast on all known frequencies.
The crew of the space station CSA -Akron had noted an anomaly in the hyper
space portal they had been experimenting on.
