Nine Days in May continued.....
Journal entry May 13th (continued)
They were attempting to locate its source, when they became aware of the station
being scanned by an unknown presence. One of the officers managed to send a
distress signal, before contact was lost, his last words were ‘We have been
enveloped in a silver mist of some kind, scanners unable to penetrate, there are
shadows moving all around us in the control room, all systems are shutting
down’. Various attempts to regain contact with the station has failed and a long
range patrol ship diverted to that sector of space has found no evidence of it ever
existing .
The president of the CSA was furious at the loss of the station as apparently it
was also in the process of testing a particle beam weapon for the military. The
military governors are convinced that this was a first strike by the SSB although
they have seemed to forgotten one small detail and that is the question of the
unidentified mass that has been detected approaching Saturn.
Journal entry May 14th
Tensions between the two major super powers has been increasing rapidly as
there was an incident in the North Atlantic when a CSA F-7 Silent Shadow
collided with a SSB Mig-49, resulting in both planes and pilots being lost. The
Pacific-Oceania Consortium (POC) has vowed to stay neutral in any conflict
between the two, although many in the government want to side with the CSA.

Conflict is escalating around the globe as various smaller nations not aligned
to anyone by treaties, are coming under pressure to take sides. There has been
exchanges of fire at some sensitive hotspots, resulting in casualties to each
party. There have also been reports of armed unrest in some parts of the SSB,
but details are very sketchy due to a security crack down in the affected areas.
The SSB are blaming CSA backed fifth columnist’s for the armed resistance and
sabotage of telecommunications and early warning radar stations in Ireland
and the United Kingdom.
Responsibility for these attacks have been fiercely denied by the office of
the President of the CSA and as a result, both sides have launched into a
propaganda war using the media.
Journal entry May 16th
All communication contact lost with military bases on Mars, as both sides had
space ports there, there are accusations of pre-emptive strikes on each other.
Both sides are convinced that the unknown mass approaching the Earth is in
fact a secret weapon developed by each other and that they are the victims of
a hoax designed to catch the other side out. Normal telecommunications is
becoming very difficult due to the destruction of orbiting satellite’s by laser
equipped killer satellite’s on both sides.

The President of the CSA has announced that to counter the threat of hostilities
by the SSB, he has ordered that all military base’s within the CSA to be put on
Def-con 1, which means that we are now on an active war footing. The chance of
total global warfare is increasing by the minute. Report just come in, New Vegas
space research facility has been totally destroyed in an atomic blast, it seems that
a new type of stealth missile penetrated its laser defence system. A CSA
prototype particle beam canon mounted in the cargo bay of a space ship has just
retaliated by destroying most of the former island of Japan from Tokyo to
Hiroshima.
The situation is rapidly running out of control as each side is preparing for
all out strikes using mutual assured destruction weapons or (MAD) for short.
Moon base 5 reported an approaching object of huge dimensions nearing
the Earth before contact was lost with all base’s on the moon.
At the same time a message started to emanate from the silvery mist that clouded the moon from
our view, just two words ‘Be still’ repeated over and over again.
This for some reason seemed to calm down the hostilities somewhat, with
each side calling a cease fire when realising that the other wasn’t responsible for
the strange phenomenon that they were witnessing . As the message continued
to broadcast those two words over and over, the world waited with baited breath
as to what would happen next.

The next morning the silver mist surrounding the moon had vanished and in
its place was a space ship so vast that it almost eclipsed the sun. Radio tracking
stations the world over, reported the whole surface of the planet being scanned,
various attempts to contact the space ship using computer translators have met
without success. Emergency meetings have been held as to determine the reasons
for global scanning, but so far nobody has come up with an logical explanation.
World religious leaders have been trying to calm their worshipers, but
with evidence of extra-terrestrials on their door step, this has caused many to
lose faith in their prospective gods, with the end result being increased confusion
on the streets. Another message from the orbiting ship, simply said ‘What have
you done to our nursery’ this caused much head scratching, with many thinking
the translators had got it wrong some how. The next message came soon after,
asking for all world leaders to meet at a certain grid reference the following
day. Many in the government suspected a trap of some kind, but in the end
every world leader from rich and poor nation alike assembled at the required
location.

All world leaders have assembled at the requested location, there is an tense
atmosphere of apprehension as heavy security is very much in evidence.

Everyone had been waiting over an hour, with some in the gathering, voicing an
opinion that this was just one giant hoax, when an incredible bright light filled
the auditorium. When everyone’s eyes had returned to normal, imagine their
surprise at seeing a ten foot tall being standing in the centre of the room. The
being’s appearance was hard to describe due to the shimmering nature of its
skin, although it had a humanoid look to it. A hundred voices all started to talk
at once, but one gesture with its hand and silence fell over everyone.
Then it asked a variety of questions to everyone who was in the room.
Why do you make war?
Why do you destroy?
Why do you poison the air?
Why do you poison the sea?
Why do you poison the land?
Why do some nations starve when others have plenty?
Why do you cut down the trees?
Why do you kill for sport?
Why do you hate that what is different?
Of course we couldn’t answer any of those questions, who could?
Then it seemed to receive a signal from its ship and it asked us only three more
questions.
Why do you kill your fellow animals?
Why are we unable to find many species of animal, such as the Dodo? The whale or elephant?
Why should we let you live on our planet?
This last question threw everyone into a panic and it was in this panic that our
fate was sealed, when some of the security forces opened fire on the being. There
was another flash of light and it was gone.
Journal entry May 19th (continued)
Well, when this happened I sort guessed that it wasn’t going to end well and I
was right. I only had time to grab a small amount of food and a recording device
before taking refuge in a deep underground bunker before every military plane,
ship or base was simultaneously destroyed on a global scale. It seems that the
aliens had used Earth to populate other worlds with animals and plants and that
we were an unexpected by product of their terra forming program. A few
humans are being kept to try and find out what went wrong, but the rest are
being systematically hunted down like vermin.
This has all happened in one day, as I can no longer hear any radio
signals for help, there is only total silence now. Am I the last man on Earth?
I hope that one day, someone might find this journal and learn some thing from
it.

My conclusion is, that this was once a backward civilization that appears to have
been wiped out by a very advanced race of alien beings as there are no remains
of any surface structures at all to indicate its existence. Although I would be
cautious as to the accuracy of this information as who ever wrote this could
have been suffering from isolation syndrome, we are proceeding to run scans
on the surrounding land mass to try and find any other evidence of structures.
Report again in three weeks, Professor Hayden signing off.

Report as follows: Deep space starship Valkerye detected
another ship of unknown configuration on an intercept
vector, last message said something about weapons hot
before contact was lost. Tracking the intruder from the
survey ship shows that it has changed course and is now
on an intercept course with us.
We are preparing for immediate emergency dust off even
as I speak. Latest report shows that the intruder has
increased its speed and that it is almost on top off us.
Oh god its here, a huge silvery cloud, scanners can’t
penetrate, weapons have no effect, No, I don’t believe……….
