Breast Feeding or Bottle Feeding - What does it matter?

Really what does it matter? If a baby is hungry they need to be fed. The public reaction to a crying baby is much worse than the reaction to feeding the poor little mite.
A rough sampling of blogs this morning has shown that for the most part most people are supportive of the new legislation in NSW but all agree its a pity things have had to come to legislation.
Yet the legislation should also make it clear that no mother should be abused for feeding a child anywhere. Not just breastfeeding!
The amount of abuse I got for bottle feeding my four children was amazing. I was accused on one occasion of not loving my newborn, of being selfish and self centred because I was bottle feeding a tiny (very tiny) month old baby.
The person hurling the abuse was a member of the nursing mothers association and didn't care that my child had nearly died because of an allergy to my milk and that we had to bottle fed her or have her in hospital on drips to keep her alive. Bottle feeding her was easier than that.
It would be nice to live in a world where personal choice or circumstance was the only thing people had to worry about, wouldn't it? Instead of having to legislate that people be allowed to do what they need to do?
