NFL Week 8 Review Part 2

October 31st 2012 02:53
Dolphins 30, Jets 9
I don't care what anyone says, Tim Tebow will not fix this team. While the teams struggles are partly because of Sanchez, Tebow has not helped all that much. Since the day he got their he has been a distraction for the team and on sunday he was the player that missed the block on the blocked punt. the Jets will be a 6-10 team whether Sanchez or Tebow is the starter, and that is all i will say about that. now back to the review, although the Dolphins came out with the victory, they lost Ryan Tannehill to an injury early in the game. this could turn out to be significant if it sidelines Tannehill for some games, as Matt Moore has some trade value to teams right now. the Jets were embarrassed in this game and i was impressed by the Dolphins, this team could contend for a playoff spot this year.

Falcons 30, Eagles 17
Well this game might be the end of the Mike Vick era, as he admitted that Andy Reid was thinking of making a quarterback change. While i approve of that, it will not fix all of their issues, as the secondary was exposed during this game as being a mediocre unit. the Eagles offense did not play much better, further making the calls for Nick Foles louder. I need to apologize to the Falcons for i was wrong about them, as i said that they were not an impressive team. I am man enough to admit when i am wrong and i was way off on that one. The Falcons look like one of the best offenses in the league and have a solid defense as well. the Falcons dominated throughout the game and showed they can win away from the dome.

Steelers 27, Redskins 12
Well i was wrong, i said that RG3 would torch the Steelers defense and i was not even close. RG3 was shut down the whole game and really never seemed to be comfortable all game, some of his struggles can be attributed to all the drop passes that the receivers had. For the Steelers, they just dominated on the offensive side of the ball as they were able to run the ball and pass effectively the whole game. Johnathan Dwyer impressed me very much as he ran hard all game and was really taken down by the first tackler. This game showed that the Steelers are back. I should note the poor behavior by Redskins corner back Deangelo Hall, if you would like to read more on my opinion of that i will put a link at the end of the article.

Pats 45, Rams 7
The Pats felt right at home in England as they beat the Rams with ease and really had no trouble with them at all. After the Rams first drive resulted in a long touchdown pass, most Pats fans might have felt sick and wondered if the Pats were gonna get torched by Bradford like they were by Sanchez a week ago. But after that drive the Pats took over on both sides of the ball and ran up 45 unanswered points. The Patriots looked like the offensive of old as they were dynamic and did whatever they liked. Tom Brady passed for over 300 yards, Stephen Ridley ran for over 120 and Rob Gronkowski caught two touchdowns. On defense the Pats continue to get contributions some their rookies as Chandler Jones got another sack and Tavon Wilson and Alonzo Dennard both recorder interceptions. for the Rams, nothing seemed to work and it was a long flight home im sure

while that is a possibility i only see the eagles as being a wild card team at best cause they will not pass up the giants. they also need to make some changes on defense
