NFL Week 15 - Jannie Picks

December 15th 2011 23:58
Going 9-7 last week, I'm not too happy, and I'm looking for vengence!

**My picks are underlined, and in bold**

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Atlanta Falcons: Call me crazy, but I feel an UPSET coming on! Blaine Gabbert looked A LOT better last week, in fact, that whole offense looked better. They have some injuries, but I actually think it HELPS them. Atlanta is inconsistent, and with their head coach Mike Smith having hospital bouts, maybe the Falcons aren't fully prepared for the Jag's. I'm going to say....Jacksonville 28-20. Like I said, call me crazy!

Dallas Cowboys @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The first Saturday Night game of the year. A reason to get out of the house on a Saturday, away from your nagging wives/girlfriends. Although this game doesn't sound very exciting, Dallas NEEDS this win, bad. I have now come to the conclusion that Dallas' secondary is the worst in the NFL, next to Minnesota. I'm still giving the Boys the win, but not by the line (-7). I'll say something like 24-20.

Washington Redskins @ New York Giants: New York is going to dominate this game I have a feeling. They already lost to the low Redskins this year, so they have a bad taste in their mouths. Also, New York doesn't lose to them at home, usually. 35-10 G-Mennnnn.

Green Bay Packers @ Kansas City Chiefs: Oh boy, this is almost as bad as the New England vs. Indianapolis game. Slaughterfest. Packers keep the donut on the loss column. I can't even give a correct guess, because this could be bad.

New Orleans Saints @ Minnesota Vikings: With Adrian Peterson back in action, I like Minnesota in this game. The Saints have a defense that can let up points, and I think thats the only way the Vikings can win, and they will. High scoring game. 35-31 Minnesota.

Seattle Seahawks @ Chicago Bears: Seattle's run game, is nearly unstoppable it seems. If anyone can stop it, its Chicago (or Denver). But the other side, Chicago can't score more that 14. Seahawks win 21-10

Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills: Really close game, I have that feeling. 17-10...Bills.

Carolina Panthers @ Houston Texans: How does Houston keep winning? It amazes me. But this is a game I think they can win. 27-14

Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts: Tennessee wins.

Cincinnati Bengals @ St. Louis Rams: Bengals win, suprise, suprise.

Detroit Lions @ Oakland Raiders: This is a hard game for me to predict. It's either going to be a pillow fight, or a scorefest. I'll say, 38-20, Detroit.

New England Patriots @ Denver Broncos: I'm getting a Te-bow-ner, just thinking about this game. I want Tebow to win in the worst way, TEBOW TIME!

New York Jets @ Philedalphia Eagles: New York eeks by with a win, 24-20.

Cleveland Browns @ Arizona Cardinals: Cardinals at home is almost as sure as a Green Bay win.

Baltimore Ravens @ San Diego Chargers: Game of the week (under Tom Vs. Tim) Baltimore has everything to play for, especially if Pittsburgh wins on Monday night, like I think they will. I say 21-20, Ravens.

Week 14 Jannie Picks

December 8th 2011 23:49
Here are my Week 14 NFL Picks! **My picks are underlined and in bold**

Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers: The AFC North rivalries continue on Thursday Night Football. Cleveland lost last week to the Ravens, in a game that wasn't very close, and Pittsburgh ran over the Cincinnati Bengals. Although that leads to me saying that this game won't even be close....Your wrong. I actually think this game is going to be fairly close, Peyton Hillis may or may not play, and that's a big factor. Troy Palomalu looks like he is going to start as well. I still think Pittsburgh wins, somewhat easily, but as for the spread of 14, I'm taking the Browns.

Indianapolis Colts @ Baltimore Ravens: .....Sorry, you have to wake me up to watch this game. I don't even think there is much to say about this game. Baltimore wins.

Houston Texans @ Cincinnati Bengals: This game actually excites me. Houston's defense doesn't let up points, but their offense can't really score either. Cinci always plays well at home and they need a win to stay in the Wild Card picture. I'll say the Bengals pull it off in the second half, 17-10.

Kansas City Chiefs @ New York Jets: This could be the debut of Kyle Orton as a Chief. And I think he has a big game. Sanchez can't possibly have this many good games in a row, and Rex Ryan can't keep winning. This is my upset pick, Kansas City 31-21.

Minnesota Vikings @ Detroit Lions: Usually these NFC North Rivalry games are pretty close. Ponder is looking better each week, and Adrian Peterson is back. That's enough to scare any defense. The Lions look like they are laying down under a tree for the rest of the year. Another upset for me, I say Minnesota gets the win. I'm not guessing the score, because I don't even have a logical guess at it, I just have a feeling Peterson has a BIG day.

New Orleans Saints @ Tennessee Titans: This could be a close game. It's outdoors, which Drew Brees isn't too good outdoors, and Tennessee plays well in front of their fans. Chris Johnson is finally earning what they payed for him, and Hasselback, the old fart of the league, is maintaining. I still think New Orleans pulls off the win, but maybe not but much. 3 point game?

Philadelphia Eagles @ Miami Dolphins: I'm doing it again, just like I did with Tebow and the Broncos. Until Miami gives me a reason not to pick them, I'm going to pick them. They look like a playoff team, that can't make the playoffs.

New England Patriots @ Washington Redskins: New England's defense is a lot worse than I thought, letting up 24 points to the Colts. But this is their redemption game. Could be one of those 35-3 games.

Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers: The Falcons looked HORRIBLE on Sunday. They couldn't move the ball at all it looked like. And Cam Newton and the Panthers are winning games, fairly easily. Home and points never looked so good. Carolina by 10.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Jacksonville Jaguars: This game scares me to bet on, I think its going to be close either way. I'll give the edge to the Buc's.

San Francisco 49ers @ Arizona Cardinals: Another home and points pick. Arizona and Kevin Kolb reunite I think this week, and the 49ers clinched their division, they aren't going to play for much. That's why I give the WIN, to the Cardinals.

Chicago Bears @ Denver Broncos: TEBOW, TEBOW, TEBOW!

Oakland Raiders @ Green Bay Packers: Green Bay should remain undefeated in this game, no problem.

New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys: My pick for Game of the Week. This will be a battle. It all depends on the QB's. If they both have a good game, Romo edges them with his defense. But Eli can pull off a much needed win. This is a perfect picture of a 3 point game. I flipped a coin, it picked Dallas.

Week 13 Results

December 8th 2011 22:54
Hey NFL fans, sorry for being so late on this post, I've had a hecktic week to say the least! But here it is. Going a very Mediocre 8-8 this week, I feel like I need to redeem myself this next week

Headlines for Week 13:

1.) Tim Tebow YET AGAIN, wins a game in the 4th quarter, and this time he put up 35 points. How's that taste Tebow doubters? I was one of the lucky ones that was at that game (I live in Minnesota), and it was ELECTRIC. Suprisingly, Bronco's fans traveled very well. I'd say it was about 3:1 (one Bronco fan to every 3 Vikings fan). His defense finally broke down, letting Viking QB Christian Ponder throw for 381 yards and 2 TD's. But Tebow actually looked like a QB, going 10-15 for 202 yards and a couple TD's as well. I'm just enjoying the ride on the Tebow Train.

2.) Atlanta lost a heartbreaker to the Houston Texans. Their offense couldn't do anything! It was not fun to watch. Houston is going to make the playoffs it looks like, without Matt Schaub OR Matt Leinart. Who would have thought.

3.) Bears only put up 3 points against the Kansas City Chiefs, who won with a score of 10-3. Yes, I'll take the under for 300 Bob.

4.) Indianapolis is STILL winless. But they only lost by 7 points, which I'm guessing lost a bunch of people money. Dan Orlovsky was actually REALLY good, I dont know if New England laid down after the first half, but it sure looked like it. Final score, New England 31-24

5.) My bold pick of the Steelers winning by 14 or more pulled through. The Bengals didn't even show up. And I had the feeling they wouldn't.

6.) Miami wins AGAIN. In a very convincing fashion. They creamed Oakland's defense and stopped their running game. This is almost a better story than Tebow and the Broncos!

7.) San Francisco shuts out the St. Louis Rams. SHOCKER.

That is the headlines from Week 13.

NFL Week 13 - Jannie Picks

November 30th 2011 19:58
Here are my picks for this weeks bundle of games! **My picks are underlined, and in bold**

Philadelphia Eagles @ Seattle Seahawks: Philly is really inconsistent, that's all I can say about them. Either they are lights out, or they give up 35 points. Seattle stays in games until the 4th quarter it seems. Tarvarus Jackson and Sidney Rice have chemistry built up from their Minnesota days together, which helps a lot. But I don't know, I think the Eagles will come out and win this game for Andy Reid. All the players love him, and I think they want to keep them around. Philly wins easily this Thursday

NFL Power Rankings 1-10

November 30th 2011 00:25
POWER RANKINGS:

1.) Green Bay Packers (11-0): Obvious. But with an impressive road win against the Lions on Thanksgiving, they look that much better, and that much closer to a 16-0 season. This week they play the New York Giants, so everyone will be watching to see what happens there

NFL Talk - Quarterback Protection?

November 29th 2011 23:03
This past week I seen something that occurs so often in the NFL, and it really grinds my gears.

I was watching the Thanksgiving day game, Packers@ Lions, which was a good game overall. But on one particular play, one of the Lions defensive linemen (not Suh) hit Aaron Rodgers JUST after he threw a pass. The lineman lead with his hands, and knocked Rodgers to the ground. Flags flew from three different directions.

Monday Night Pre-Game

November 28th 2011 22:17

Very interesting Monday Night game indeed. The New York Giants @ New Orleans Saints. Both atop their division (or tied), and with Atlanta winning their game against Minnesota, the Saints need a win to keep up. The Giants come on losing last week to the Eagles, which made everyone think that the Eagles had a chance. But when the Eagles lost this week to the New England Patriots, that pretty much guarenteed a divisional win for the Giants. Although this game doesn't mean as much for the Giants as it does for the Saints, they will still play like they always do

Week 12 Results

November 28th 2011 05:21
Not a bad week overall, going 11-4 on my picks, losing Green Bay @ Detroit, San Francisco @ Baltimore, St. Louis @ Arizona, and Washimgton @ Seattle.

The only one I am truly suprised at, is the Washington @ Seattle game, I really didn't see that game being a Redskin win, but hey, you can't win them all every week. All the other games were fairly close, besides the Green Bay game, which was a bit of a stretch for me to pick the Lions, but it was worth a shot I thought.

NFL Talk - The Kicker Saves The Day

November 26th 2011 07:51
Am I the only one who has noticed all the missed field goals? It seems like every week, there is a field goal missed, that ends up being a big factor in the game. Why are there so many field goals shanked this year? Well I decided to look in on the statistics. And what I found out, may suprise you more than you think.

Inside of 50 yards, kickers are 468 out of 540 through Week 12, a depressing 86.6%. Thats 216 points missed out on, and considering 33 of the 320 games played throughout the season have ended in 3 points or less, those 216 points could have come in handy down the stretch.
