New Years On the road
January 2nd 2009 16:10
Christmas was great, expensive and tiring. New Years Eve I was in the truck when I could of been home. I was supposed to pick up my load and be on my way that morning. The reefer didnt work, so I got aimed for a repair shop. Shouldnt have taken but a few minutes to fix, but they never did. Couldnt figure out what was wrong. By the time I got to leave, someone else had got my load and I had to swap trailers. By then it was New Years day and nothing was being loaded anywhere, so I got to sit in this crappy truck stop just a little too far from home to get back for the day.
When I take 3 days off every month its easier to go back to work than when I get a week off. Its getting harder and harder to go back to the road. Either it isnt as much fun as it used to be or Im just getting old. What Id really like is a job that gets me home every weekend. but I keep threatening to quit and havent yet.
My load is ready.
