New Website Vimu.com & Competition
July 10th 2008 12:50
You may have noticed the Vimu buttons on many of the Orble Blogs.
Vimu.com is a new website by On Topic Media (who also run Orble) which allows people to share links with friends and people with similar interests.
You can also use it to promote your blog by sharing links to your posts. This is what the "Share it" and "Subscribe" buttons on your blog are for.
All Orblers should be able to login to Vimu.com using their Orble email and password.
Vimu is in beta testing at the moment and has not officially launched yet. I would really appreciate it if the Orble bloggers could help me test it out and find any bugs. So if you find a bug (even just a spelling mistake) please leave a comment below
Also if you have any ideas or suggestions for improving the site I'd love to hear them.
There is also a competition being run to help give Vimu a kickstart. The owner of the Vimu channel with the most geniune subscribers in one month (the 11th of August 2008, 1pm, EST Australia) will win $100 USD, with second place earning $50 USD, and $25 USD for 3rd.
All of the Orble domain blogs have already been imported into Vimu and this can be your channel for the competition, however you can also create other channels and enter them, it's up to you.
Vimu is also a great way to get all of your favourite Orble blogs summarised in one place, so even if you don't don't enter the competition subscribe to a few channels see what you think. You can also earn AdSense revenue from your links and channels in the same way as Orble.
Thanks all,
Jon

Is this your version of Facebook? if so, it does have potential. I was thinking of this just the other day.
Waiting for it all to happen Jon.

Louie -- that's a good idea, thanks. I'll definitely do that. It's actually on my list somewhere.
Katyzz -- it's not really meant to be facebook, just an easy way to share good links

Morgan & Janet -- if you could read it and let me know if it makes sense I would really appreciate it.
It is similar to Digg in that it's a social bookmarking site, however Vimu is all about friends and people with similar interests recommending webpages to each other rather than the mass-market, one-size-fits-all approach.

How can I get to see vimu? Is it still alive, it did sound really good.
I was hoping to put the logo on my writing sites so that the many people I deal with could link to vimu. I'd like to do that with Orble too.
