Three quick things to report.
1. In general, it's better to send mystery gifts boxes than carnival tickets.
Why? Well, put it this way...
If you get 4 carnival gifts, that's 12 tickets (since each gift is 3 tickets).
If you get 4 mystery gift boxes, the odds are that one of them will be an energy refill (since there's around a 1 in 4 chance of a dead bull, regardless of the colour of the box).
And if you invest that energy into missions, depending on what your energy is, you'll likely get a lot more than 12 tickets... A single mission can get you 10 tickets at once...
2. The gossip is that the new area will be based on Mandy, since:
(a) there's an "M" attached to the picture of the key;
(b) if you right click on the image on the front page and select "save as", you can see the file is called something like "mandyland_promo".
3. From memory, the New York Portal from Christmas 2009 required about 1100-1200 vials of blood to finish. Something like 400 for the first stage, 350 for the second stage, another 400 for the third stage... So it's quite likely you'll need a similar number of carnival tickets to get whatever grand epic ability Zynga is offering. But the more carnival tickets the better, so you can earn 501 of the superior ability of each stage, and prove to the VW world that you have a big dick and no life.
