New Bike 2
January 15th 2007 09:10
Hello again
Been a great day in the garden city, lovely and warm, so hopefully summer is on it's way?
Did the usual cycle to work this morning, great ride in, not too cold, just right in fact. Its 20km
round trip which is just right for commuting.
Came home, had tea which for any family reading this, consisted of chicken kebabs, with a mixed side salad and honey mustard dressing. Then blobbed on the couch for half an hour feeling tired before deciding to do some editing on chapter 2 of my novel.
Did that okay, then thought I would go for a ride to see a friend who lives up the hill in Mt Pleasant, so got changed and off I went. Pretty good ride although Mt Pleasant rd was bit of a grind. Had a quick chat before heading home as was losing the light some what. Had my bright yellow jacket on and a rear light so set off towards home.
Photo was taken looking towards the windsurfing lake, with Southshore to the left and centre and Mt Pleasant to the right. Even though I had my very bright fluro jacket on, a car driver still tried to pull out in front of me and for all you cyclists and motorcyclists in the UK, no it wasn't a Volvo.
Talking of motorbikes, having this road bike is like when I got my first motorbike, you just want to ride it every where.
Been having a look through my photo archives and found a couple of mtb ones, which shows what not to do.
Well better do some other sutff now as thinking of a short story to put on here.
thought for the day ' Be calm, like a great tree in a storm'
