What is networking???????
In order to construct a network, let us first define a network.
A network is a collection of connected devices which communicate with each other and may share some resources.
A network carries data along many kind of locations which may be
(i)Main office :-A main office is a place where almost all the corporate data is available, many people are connected and depend on network access to do their jobs.
(ii)Remote locations :- These remote locations depend on main office for their resources and hence are dependent on the main office.
These need connectivity with the main office as well as with the other remote locations.
These remote locations can be
Branch office :- Branch office is where a smaller group of people work and communicate via network.
Mostly the major information required by the job in branch office is located in the main office.
Home offices :-This is where individuals work from home. They may require to access information from the main office or a branch office or both.
These mostly require dialing to the main office or on-demand connectivity.
Mobile users :- Mobile users connect to the main office network while at any of the locations- main office or branch office or while traveling.
