Neil Jordan to head 23rd Tokyo International Film Festival Jury
Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) is pleased to announce that award-winning Irish filmmaker Neil Jordan will be the Jury President for the International Competition at the 23rd TIFF. He is one of the most highly acclaimed filmmakers in the world and his films have been honored with numerous awards worldwide including Oscar (The Crying Game) and BAFTAs (Crying Game, The End Of The Affair).
Company Of Wolves, his second film, was selected for the first year of TIFF's Competition section in 1985.
Submission for COMPETITION 2010!
Competition section at Tokyo has screened up-and-coming directors as well as premieres of works by prestigious filmmakers of the world. Last year there were 743 films from 81 countries and regions, the most in the history of TIFF, aspiring to win the TOKYO SAKURA GRAND PRIX.
With a renewed regulation, open to larger variety of films, TIFF looks forward to even a greater number of submissions this year from around the world.
