Need Blogging Ideas? Wonder Wheel
September 5th 2009 15:23
New from Google, the Wonder Wheel can be a great tool to help writers brainstorm ideas in their niche blog topics. Sub categories within each niche pop up when you click on the main category giving you more and more ideas to write about, and shows how many web page are already focused on this topic. I tried it out last night after watching a video demonstration by Darren Rowse at ProBlogger.( Link at the end of this blog post.)
The niche I decided to check out was adoption. The wonder wheel opened up adoption and several niche categories within the adoption search. Each seemed fairly saturated with web pages and information. Knowing quite a bit about the adoption process I checked out that one. Each circle I clicked on showed less pages written about the topic. Of the niche topics within the main topic, domestic adoption process had the least information with only 900 000 pages devoted to it. I went further into the categories, expecting to find less info available the further I went. Surprisingly the subcategories were more content full. Good informaation. So that was it, I would write about the domestic adoption process. A simple decision with the Wonder Wheel.
Google has added several other tools to help with your search including the ability to see what has been written about your topic in the past 24 hours. You can use these to see what's new and fresh in your niche blog topic, or what you can add to the topic that no one else has.
Click on the link and watch Darren's quick step by step video to get yourself started using the wonder wheel and finding new ideas for your blog or articles.
