Alabama Crimson Tide vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish - a matchup for the ages. It almost seems like destiny that Alabama managed to get back in the title game again after the late season loss to Johnny Football. It's most likely the matchup everyone was hoping for. In the end, both teams needed some help to get to this matchup, but I for one am happy they did. Now the question we will tackle here is, who will win it all?
Notre Dame relies on physical defense to keep scoring low and let their wear you down offense do just enough to pull out the victory. Manti Te'o leads the Irish defense and may be playing with a bit larger of an edge than usual due to not bringing home the heisman? Alabama plays much the same way, although their defense is possibly not as strong this year as it has been in past years. They don't have the dominant names on defense, but as a unit they are solid, as Nick Saban demands, and they don't make many mistakes. The Alabama offense is lead by A.J. McCarron at QB who was considered a game manager early, but has lead some impressive comebacks to at least partially ditch that label. The Tide are also stacked at RB as usual with Eddie Lacy and T.J. Yeldon bringing a powerful force.
The Tide I think have the advantage on offense and Notre Dame on Defense, but overall the two teams seem very similar and equal. It likely will come down to just who wants it more.
I have a bit of a bias and believe the Tide will pull off their 3rd championship in 4 years. Agree or Disagree? Let's discuss.
