NBA Playoffs - The Magician Lives
Aaaaaaaaaand there goes the broom. Back in the wardrobe lil' fella.
Dwight Howard wakes up to the fact that he's a big man who can pull apart any defence in the league, and look what happens! Yes, overtime was an added twist, but the fact remains, Orlando played tougher and got the result because of it. It wasn't perfect, far from it. The extra period was a mess for the most part, even the shots that went down were thanks to luck.
The thing that got me was the interview with Howard after the game. The smile was nowhere to be seen, the enthusiasm invisible. The win should be a confidence boost, but you'd be hard pressed to see anything but that right now. They aren't resigned to a fate partially better than the Cavs, today is proof of that, but there's a little voice inside my head telling me 'it won't last.' No team, in the history of the NBA, has come back from three games down. I'd love to be there when history is finally made, but even with the win I can't see it happening.
Bring it back home and throw in a little respectability, I guess that's the only thing I can really hope for.
Nash did break his nose after all, and I'm still trying to shake the memory of him fighting to put it back in place. I may have been wrong about being on the other side of his face, but hey, at least it wasn't his arm on the other side of his body! Fingers crossed the Suns make it an even contest.
And Dwight, smile! Shine those pearly whites! Show the world no matter the situation, you won't let it get you down! If anything, do it for me! Just so I can stop using exclamation marks to prove my point!!
