NBA Playoffs - Lebron Who?
That's the question Kobe Bryant was obviously asking, on the way to another 40 point game, all the while proving to the league that the only team to really fear, are the defending champs.
Phoenix held tight in the first quarter despite dropping a lead early on, but once Kobe got going, it was game over. No-one can stop that. Not even the King.
But to be fair to the Lakers, Kobe was nothing without Gasol, who proved once again how invaluable he's become for the team. Odom didn't do so bad either. In fact, everyone on the team played their part, unlike the Suns who just couldn't get it going. Credit Steve Nash, still playing with one eye and pulling off a double/double, but there weren't enough all-round performances to get the win, and in the end, the Lakers showed how much of a class act they really are.
Funny, how the two teams that everyone questioned form and injury wise leading into the playoffs (besides the Cavs, of course) are now in the box seats of both conference finals. If you're wondering, no, I didn't forget the game yesterday. Tell a lie, I'm trying to forget. Boston won, and Orlando have dug a hole for themselves. We'll see how game two runs its course.
But back on the Lakers, unless something drastic changes over the next few games, it seems unlikely they'll miss out on a finals berth. Phoenix have a lot more on their shoulders, the least of which being the future of Nash, and how many more years he can keep it up.
